Keen to join, albeit i wont be climbing much for the next few months (winter, thats my excuse...)

What do the rules mean stage?

All activities logged during the challenge period must be uploaded to Strava no later than three days after a stage ends.

Who's the number 1 guy he's got some nice company he rides with

Doubt he really ridez with them ;).

Must be a random challenge joiner in the hunt  for kudo's

Doubt his altitude gain a lot as well, Brazilian map data sets for strava are very unreliable and massively over estimate altitude gain( I know I used to be very high up leaderboard when I lived there just cos it doubled or tripeled the real effort ;)  )

There is only one stage for this challenge, being the full 2019 calendar year, from 01 Jan 2019 to 31 Dec 2019 midnight.

All your rides must be uploaded to strava by 3 January 2020 latest in order for it to be included in the stats of the challenge. That's how I'm interpreting the rules.

Leader board updated.

The challenge now has 38 participants who have 275 km worth of climbing for Jan thus far...

That is strange.

When trying to join did it redirect you to Strava login page?

Maybe try from a PC?

So what group is this?

I am in 11th place.

Not too bad considering that I don't have any big climbs in my area.

After Baberton tomorrow (2100m) I should improve my standing.

Who would have thought I would lose 7 places after a 2000m ascent ride.

I am clearly outclassed on this challenge

Geez 2000m and still going down the list...

It's also because of guys who are still joining and who have already racked up more elevation than you. So when they pop up on the leader board you get pushed down.
