Interesting. I took a set of Level TLM's off my bike recently and replaced them with Xt 8000s for two reasons: (a) I found the Levels squishy and for me they just didn't bite hard enough fast enough when needed (b) the Levels squealed like heck even after a fair bit of use. Very happy having gone (back) to XT

There should be no comparison. My ancient SLX brakes have way more power than Guides with 4 pot callipers. Levels are XC/marathon while XT is virtually DH worthy IMO.

i see Easybike have XT for a good price...might just plash some cash on them.

Quick Question, will the the XT brake set be compatible with Sram GX Eagle shifters? meaning i-spec compatible?

Not as far as I know - they each have their own lever/shifter integration system. If your shifters have full bar mounts then the XT brakes will be fine. If not you may have a problem.

Shifters don't have full bar mounts so back to the drawing board.

I have set of Deore BR-M615 which is essentially the same as the SLX BR-M675 but reach adjust is via hex screw on the Deores and both of these perform pretty much the same as a set of BL-M785 XT Deores which has the added free stroke adjustment to advance your pistons for the braking bite point.  These all have servo wave levers which ramps up braking power (or leverage) as you progress through the lever pull. Now I've ridden mechanicals, Elixir 5s and the Deores and I take on the DH lines with these. Good budget brakes

TRP's uhm, so has anyone experienced the lever adjust coming loose until eventually the lever is right to the bars.

Rode the cura's when i was Knysna thanks to getstoked distribution, they feel fantastic.

The power is immense due the bigger pistons even though they're only 2 pot.

Meezo, I experienced the adjustment knob coming loose. Took it to lbs and they said that had another case like that. They put on a drop of that "anti slip thingy" never moved a mm since. Happy with the brakes thus far

So my Cura sale fell flat, so got some M7000 SLX brakes from another user. Should be able to fit them tomorrow and go ride GSpot after work to see how they perform.

Looking forward to it.

I did Helderberg Trails on Saturday, that double black on my current Tektro's is scetchy AF.

After my first ride this morning on Curas after years of XT, won’t be going back. Better ergonomics, better breaking feel and power, just better!! We have a winner

You have seen the light :)

You don't realise what you have been missing till you try it hey!

Congrats, you'll be loving them more the steeper you go!
