Darryll Posted January 31, 2019 Share Great thanks. Would it be a good bike for him to start racing with. I am working on a tight budget so options are limited
bertusras Posted January 31, 2019 Share Yeah probably just under 10KG. The Girl rode one for quite some time. It is an old bike, so the state of the components probably are the most important part. You wouldn't want to spend a lot of money to ensure that it's in good operating condition. However, with a quick clean and lube, the bike will do many, many miles. Dadbod Racing Posted January 31, 2019 Share It's a great first bike. My mate bought one years and on a ride one morning we popped into our LBS and they said his bike is probably worth double what he paid of it all those years ago.

Bateleur1 Posted January 31, 2019 Share I started cycling with a RC3000 and was my trusted machine for many years.
Craai Posted January 31, 2019 Share No issues with it, bought my steed for R3000 from Bouwer broers in Pretoria 16 years ago. Would probably still have it if it wasn’t stolen
madmarc Posted January 31, 2019 Share Also bought one from CAJEES for my son many years back when he ventured into cycling, if i remember it had Tiagra 9 spd groupset. Perfect bike for your son to start, make sure the groupset is working and dialed in
miniThor Posted January 31, 2019 Share Great bike to start with.Just don't be cheap with the tyres - shiddy / old and cracking tyres cost you more in tubes/bombs and inconvenient flats than decent tyres.
FondTF2 Posted January 31, 2019 Share Can not go wrong.Had the RC3000, then progressed to the RC7000 and then the Team, before moving onto my current Fondriest Edited January 31, 2019 by Fond_TF2
