Hi Everyone,

If the tyre in the attached photo was yours, would you think that the cracks starting to show is normal wear and

tear considering that the tyre is not even a year old?

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Looking at the lines on the side wall you like running at low pressure?

I would not be happy with the cracking but with tyre's it's difficult to so easy to say wear and tear because the tyres goes through a lot on the trails.

I would just replace it get those vittoria 's from around R450. That is not worth the effort and pain of arguing with them lbs. But that's just me.

Some people wear tyres out in a week or two doing gravity events... if you're a typical SA Marathon rider a year is probably doing pretty well I'd say. Lighter tyres with thinner sidewalls start showing that kind of wear pretty quickly.

Unlike the Bikehub, Sheldon has passed away and his info gets more out of date by the year.

So delete the Hub then?

Oh Boy! Opening up the snake pit here... Let's not go down there.

I think the Hub is the right place, same country with enough people to throw random comments into the pot.

Thanks Guys!

Don't expect my tyres to last a year cycling mtb 6 hours per week. Running at just over 2 bar. Changed tyres just before wine2whales having just done a race few weeks before at Paul Cluver. Those s bends went from being seriously tricky to very easy just down to having more tread. If only my suv's tyres cost those of an mtb.....seriously considered shipping a container of suv tyres and selling them at a proper price like everywhere else in the world. Serious little cartel going on here but I digress....
