however the idea behind posting here was to raise awareness of thefts in general and also to add details of your theft in an attempt to recover bikes

 

so a few more details of circumstances of theft

 

and a detailed description of the bikes would be helpful

No sure if these were your bikes but I saw 3 guys walking down William Nicol (just after river sands) yesterday morning each pushing 2 bikes. I did try watch them for a bit and took photos however they were cleve enough to keep their faces hidden to the side.

 

I did call the police and were told they were on there way from the Diepsloot police station.

 

I couldnt hang around too long as I started to get nervous.

a lock on a bikerack is like breaking a wet noodle for a bike thief - its done in a second and he is  walking away with a bike ..nobody has time to see whats happening

They don't count, they endanger other cyclists with their either lazy, or show offy parking.

A bike leaning against the wall, 1.5m away from where we were having coffee at S&J was stolen by a guy dressed in Cycling kit who just walked past and started wheeling the bike out the gate.

Hi everyone. I’m appealing to the cycling community to know who else had there bike stolen yesterday at the cradle of humankind?

Apparently an old man dressed in cycling gear was seen hovering around bidon bistro area and made away with three bikes, including my Cervelo S5.

I just want to clarify that my bike was not in Bidon Bistro. The man who is suspected to have been involved in stealing the bikes was seen leaving that area and I want to apologize for misleading that Bidon Bistro is at blame. They’re staff were incredibly helpful and are still in touch to hopefully get camera footage of the suspects car.
