Is there any info if you want to do a second loop?

They close the Charity Double Loop groups quite early IIRC correctly. It is worthwhile to contact one of the charities that is close to your passion and ask them if they can possibly help you with an entry. Think the list of charities are on the website along with contact details if you spend a couple of minutes to look for it.

I really hope I get to start a bit earlier this year.  I entered relatively early this time -  5th August and hope it gives me an earlier start?  ... before 9am

Due to some recent unforeseen medical Issues (Viral Hepatitis), looks like I am unfortunately going to have to give it a skip this year.

Waiting on Dr's orders, but there could be a entry up for grabs in the next week or so.

Obviously depending on the result of your Doc's orders, I may be available to take the entry off you if you so wish.

AFAIK when you enter has no bearing on your start time.

But surely, for example, a first time entree with no seedng who enters in August should get a earlier start time than a similar entree who entered in October?

How many of the 23 000 entrees will have actual seedings and how many are just regular riders who only ride the 947 every now and then?

Entry participants stand at 23378, this appears to include the shorter 40km route as well.

No, they determine your starting time based on your seeding around this time not when you enter.

How is start time determined for entrees with zero seeding?  Alphabetically?  By Age?  By Gender? By sexual orientation? Race? Religion?

Don't know, ask the race organizers, I know racetec started incorporating your strava stats in their data base.

Please explain this to me? ( I may have missed this)

Having watched The Great Hack, I am inclined to ask whether Strava is allowed to share that data if my profile is set to Private...?

My thoughts exactly (I also ride under a pseudonym)

If they manage to do this, I'm quitting earth, back to my planet.

you have to link it yourself, and during the process agree that they can use your private data

a year or 2 back I entered a Race for my wife and self, then at one point, it asked me for access to my Strava, I had the mail them and explained my wife does not even have Strava, so maybe they removed it not sure.

You can still link your Strava to the PPA/racetec seeding system but you have to manually do it yourself so if you don't want to share your data you don't have to.

For people who don't have a seeding index, seeding is done based on entry date (as per the seeding FAQ on their website). I wouldn't hold out too much hope for this getting you an early start time because even the earliest unseeded entrant starts after the worst seeded entrant though.
