What happened? I’m out shopping [emoji2359]

I did see that Sam took the sprint points though

A breakaway, Jungels caused Higuita to crash, crash resulted in Higuita having to abandon and Sagan had his backside handed to him at the ISP. And we not at the climbs as yet.

That is the aspect that I don't understand fully.

Who decides whether it is Coefficient 2, 3 or 4 today? And how is that decided? (I can see that today is not Coefficient 1, 5 or 6)

I eventually found the rule book where it shows the coefficients for each stage.

So today is coefficient 4 - Very difficult stages.

The time limit is calculated according to the actual time recorded by the winner plus:

7% if the average speed is less than or equal to 30km/h;

8% between 30km/h and 31km/h;

9% between 31km/h and 32km/h;

10% between 32km/h and 33km/h;

11% between 33km/h and 34km/h;

12% between 34km/h and 35km/h;

13% between 35km/h and 36km/h;

14% between 36km/h and 37km/h;

15% between 37km/h and 38km/h;

16% between 38km/h and 39km/h;

17% between 39km/h & 40km/h

18% over 40km/h.

I've updated my cut off time calculator sheet from 2016, so you can play around with it to work out the cut-off time.

Gogl up the road for NTT. Doubt he will be able to take it to the finish.

He's done well to get into that position, but it is still a long way to go.

Holding thumbs....

It will be a battle amongst the top GC contenders today.

The white jersey will be looking for bonus seconds. The yellow jersey will be looking to defend. The 2019 winner will be looking to reassert himself. Tomorrow is a rest day. So, all nitrogen cylinders will be emptied, so to speak.

Love this pan shot of the yesterday's finalé as the pack of wolves chase the eventual winner, of the youngest team in the peloton.

Blood bags all waiting in the team busses for tomorrow!

Wout... wow... defying gravity. I can feel the earth tremble as he pulls the peloton at 6.2 w/kg.

The camera does not fully reveal how steep this really is. It never does. And the climb is tricky as it has steep ramps, so rhythm and tempo is always disrupted.

Yates having a go, nobody in particular marking the move.

Bernal literally clenching his teeth. He’s not in a happy place.
