Riding on the wrong side of the road, having incoming traffic pull off to the side of the road is a helluva problem in my book

Naah that's not on, Not at all, that is endangering not only himself but the whole bunch aswell as the motorists who could possibly have a full family in the oncoming car. Definitely a douche move then!!

Good post but I will note that riding to the front on descents then dropping back in climbs is a legitimate strategy used by heavier riders. It’s up to the riders to animate the race. This is where tactics plays a role. So rant against Francois is a bit harsh, actually very harsh since you’re calling him out.
mother points I agree with

I was in F group and this "strategy" created a whole bunch of problems. It's simple physics that the rider at the back coming out of the slipstream will be faster on the downhills. They then try to squeeze through every nook and cranny or go over the white line in order to gain a few metres. I didn't feel comfortable with that and I consider that rather reckless.

I was also in F, mostly at the front, Never saw any guys, especially none of the riders around us (top 10) going over the white line. For the most part, the front 10 or so guys were always either single file or at max 2/3 abreast. When I pulled off the front and moved right to see how big the bunch was, even then I didn't see anyone over the white line. I thought F was well behaved besides the 1 occasion when a few guys and the FLM boys shared a few animated words, and then the oke who got all uptight and started the argument, did exactly what he complained about literally 50m further up the road.

I did cross the ‘white wall’ to navigate some dead wheels on Udderley. Needed to punch like Gilbert in time for the finalè, Bruuuuu. Splits were appearing all over the place.
