OK of the three screws on your photo, the right one adjust how snug the derailleur is to the cassette. Of the two left screws, the top one adjust bottom limit (smallest gear), the bottom screw adjusts top limit (biggest gear).

I never pay attention to the names but the B screw is the one on the right i believe, adjusting how close the derailleur is to the cassette. From this angle the derailleur can move much closer to the cassette. Just check it properly over the whole range after you adjust it.

Not sure what you mean by B screw but this can surely be useful : https://si.shimano.com/pdfs/dm/DM-RD0004-08-ENG.pdf (1st hit for the query xt 10 speed derailleur manual)

Usually the two that are next to each other are the limit screws, and the one that is alone is the one to set up the distance between your upper pulley wheel and your biggest cog (I'm assuming that's your B screw? )

I went from a 10 speed 11-42 to 11-46 and was advised to also fit a hanger extender. When going into the 46 the derailleur runs on the cassette.

Flip your bike over onto the saddle and bars so that you can easily work on the bike in a stable manner. Then shift it into that 2nd last gear before the 46 granny gear. Adjust the b screw until the cage doesnt touch the 46t granny gear anymore. Easy as that.

I run mine about 6 to 8mm spacing.

Is it only the camera angle, or is the der. not aligning with the cassette ?

The top pulley also does not seem to align well with the chain ?

Apologies if this is all good and only my eyes telling me stories.

Could be the camera angle. Will check tonight.
