I bought a normal 6.sided socket, then sanded the champher away on a belt sander.

I used a cordless drill to rotate the socket, while sanding ... to ensure a level finish.

Yip. Was going to grind it but spinning is a good idea. Will look at your idea but on a grinding disc...

that or take the end off with a hacksaw also works. I find the china mart has cheep sockets and then you don't feel so bad and you have a special extra bike tool and not one dodge socket in the set...

Maybe just as well my sets only goes to 24mm ...

So had to buy a 26mm.

Was a mission to find a 6 sided socket, most places stock the 12.tip model.

Flip I didn't even consider 6 vs 12 sided....I have everything except 26mm...

I bought a Gedore 12 sided socket (didn't have 6 sided) and sanded it by hand (manually turning it) with a belt sander. Works like a charm.

Edit: think I paid about R70 a few weeks back

You are in JHB, if you want to, buy a socket and bring it to me, I can turn it down for you, sometimes the OD on the sockets are also a tad big, so I can turn that down for you as well if needed

Chad that sounds like a great suggestion thank you. I see that the space is a bit tight. I'll drop you a PM to get your number to give you a shout once I've got a 6 pt 26mm.
