I've only ever ridden MAXXIS tires. the rear has always been a Crossmark and never had issues. I recently changed to the Crossmark II 29 X 2.25. Initially it was perfect, but now it has developed a serious wobble after probably 12 - 15 rides, to a point where i thought my wheel was out of true.

I put the wheel in my truing stand and there was some very minor adjustments that were made - check the rim for damage, bead groves all 100% remounted the tire with soapy water, made sure it was seated 100% using the ridge on the tire, no leaks - and it still has a serious wobble in fact its so bad if i ride downhill at speed on a smooth road i can feel it. when i check it in the truing stand with the tire mounted its out up to 15mm on one point.

I've had tires with slight wobble before on a straight rim and not really an issue as its very slight, but this is like the rim is seriously buckled

anyone else had this issue with MAXXIS.

I've never had this issue with a Maxxis tire, but I did crash a Continental which then developed a terrible wobble. Mine was also fairly new and I had to throw it away because I couldn't stand the wobble.

Sounds like the casing is cooked.

Contact Maxxis for a warranty

I did think about this but I've tried to contact MAXXIS in the past and they are useless especially when it comes to MTB tires.

But i see on Google that rush sport is the distributor for Maxxis - maybe i'll send them an email - I wont hold my breath though.

I've only had this happen when I was putting the tyre back after cleaning sealant. It was an Ardent. I think I somehow stretched it either taking it off or putting it back on as no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to rotate balanced......If its a new tyre, they might warranty but probably only if fitted by LBS with both ther Great Grandparents supervising....

Please let us know the outcome.

Maybe a stupid question...possibly over inflated when tried to seat the tyre again? Made this mistake in December with a brand new tyre. I needed to attend to something urgently and asked my daughter just to inflate the wheel untill she hears a faint pop when the tyre seats. She didn't hear or possibly didn't pay attention to it and the next moment one huge bang. Tyre came off the rim and in the process the sidewall stretched and when later I fitted the tyre gain saw this wobble in the tyre. Needed to source a new tyre again and throw away a new tyre.

I have a Maxxis Highroller that has the same issue. Also checked my wheel and it was fine. Been riding it like that for ages now with no issues. Just looks odd...

I have had this issue with Maxxis tires. Took the tire into the bike shop for replacement, the new replacement was the same, just rode the old tire with the wobble after that. Recently I cleaned the old tire of sealant after replacing the rim tape, tire was so bad after that I could not use it.

I have seen this with three or four tyres. I think all except for maybe one were Maxxis. None were mine. One got that way after some excessively vigorous sealant removal methods, another from a crash, and the others from no obvious cause.
