What happened to all the road cycling races in WC this year ?

Does anyone know why there are no road races this year after the CTCT ? no PPA`s and no mention of the DC nothing 😒

Try www.wpcycling.com  They have a whole host of races lined up, The month of May has a race every weekend and there is actually a crit race this weekend.

As mentioned above, there is some crit racing currently happening with a proper racing league coming up. If you looking for some funrides, I'm sure towards August/September a few Perdeberg sportifs will appear.

WPCA is generally responsible for winter cycling activity as others have already mentioned.

I've also noticed that PPAs comms have become very limited and you'll probably need to follow their FB page to stay informed.

Thanks … but that is mostly crit races … The usual sportifs and ppa sanctioned races are gone from the calendar

Even on racetec page … no ppa races listed for the year … even the DC is not listed

Dc announcement is usually made end of may for July entry opening

April - July is usually a quiet time for road funrides anyway, even when there were still road events on the calendar.

Quite noticeable how there are also very few mtb funrides on the calendar - thin pickings at the moment 😞

Gravel events are popping everywhere for winter, might be worth a consideration until summer returns.

In may there are loads of races, atlantis, slanghoek, paardeberg etc. even a 250km one at piketberg if you are feeling brave

2 of the 9 listed road events are criteriums. As others have said, PPA will pick up from August / September. Do the WP stuff for winter.

The WP road cycling calendar looks very good to me. I don't believe we have as many (and as well organised) races in Gauteng, and I'm not aware of any criteriums anywhere but in Cape Town.
