You guys all have way better super powers than I do.

I definitely do not have the ability to watch the road, dodge holes/cats eyes/debris while holding a wheel and chatting AS WELL AS look at a bike computer with metrics, a reverse light and still manage to look up and over my shoulder.

never mind turning to look behind and still holding a straight line going forward.

Add in poor eye sight into the mix meaning it takes a fraction longer to focus on the road behind.

Had a good laugh at the Winelands bike race, in the parking area.

More than half the vehicles were bakkies .... most being white ....

Try living in eMalahleni ( Witbank) - all the bakkies and Fortuners are white. I used to comment that one quick way to clear a restaurant was to announce that a white bakkie had been bumped in the carpark.

Any idea how the cyclist is doing? (Great product reviews here though)

Received an update this morning. Still in ICU and on ventilator. He is conscious and respond to questions by pressing her hand. Multiple fractures in leg, sternum and neck vertebra. Will have surgery as soon as blood pressure stabilise. Sound like his condition are stabilising but not out of danger as yet.

I think many, me included, find them in the position of not being able to gauge the value of the instrument without having used it.

I am finding myself more and more interested in one though ...

I was going down Constantia Nek on my own yesterday with lots of wind noise when a BMW (luckily not a white bakkie) flew by really close ... at that moment I thought a radar could have been really handy.!

After this thread and this incident happening on home turf I decided to get A Garmin Varia some weeks ago. It's an absolute life changer.
