Go for the 120mm version with the dropper post. Just do it, your wife will thank you later

I would say the Titan Racing Cypher Limited edition with the DT Swiss Shocks.

Comes in alloy and carbon to make the budget, not to much weight difference between the frames.

BUT I would look at Gen 2 Cyphers, although I have not seen one in the flesh nor pricing.

I was looking at those dt swiss options, some are just above budget, 50k, but there are so many models, variants, i have no clue which is the best option. But then again, the more expensive the better perhaps?

If possible go into a LBS, look, feel and hopefully ride the different variants.

@Titan Racing Bikestime to sell some Cyphers!

PS, Gen2 Cypher RS Carbon Elite will get my Zim $, in mustard.

To add some clarity about the Cypher range

1.
Gen 1 Cypher
Cypher RS = 100mm Travel
Cypher = 120mm Travel

But that was a bit confusing, so with the launch of the new model:

Gen 2 Cypher (launched in 2024)
Cypher RS = 100mm Travel
Cypher DC = 120mm Travel

Of the Gen 2 bikes, only the RS Team and DC Ultimate models have made it to South Africa to date. The rest of the range is expected to arrive in November. We will then have the full range available.

For Gen 1 to Gen 2 changes, please read the launch article on Le Hub HERE.

2.
The Gen 1 RS line-up goes from top to bottom:
- Carbon Ultimate
- Carbon Team
- Carbon Pro
- Carbon Elite
- Carbon Comp
- Carbon Expert
- Carbon Dash
- Expert
- Dash
- Sport

The Limited Edition mentioned earlier in this thread was a truly Limited Edition version with DT Swiss suspension and some other bits. A beautiful bike if we say so ourselves.

3.
If it doesn't say "Carbon" in the model name, it is an alloy frame. Eg:
Titan Racing Cypher RS Carbon Expert = 100mm Carbon Frame
Titan Racing Cypher DC Carbon Expert = 120mm Carbon Frame
Titan Racing Cypher RS Expert = 100mm Alloy Frame

I hope that helps. 😎

This is the first time I have seen this list set out like this for the names. Are the names also the same on the road bike side? May be worth having the list or graphic somewhere on the website with the hierarchy.

It's the same, yes.

A step further: you will notice that a Titan Racing Empire (as an example) gravel, road or mountain bike shares the same colour combo. The balance may shift, but the current MY24/MY25 Epires all have a "family look". the same with the team model, Ultimate etc.

Still on the hunt for something special. My wife spotted the white 2024 Alu frame, cypher dash.

This one:

https://bike-addict.co.za/collections/dual-suspensions/products/titan-cypher-rs-dash-2024?_pos=21&_fid=ffa309a3f&_ss=c

How are the parts on this, the fork. I know most of you said rather take an alu frame with better parts instead of a carbon frame with judy silver etc.....I do agree with you there.

So question, how is the fork and parts on this dash 2024? It would be cool if a bike shop could change the parts, basically the Limited edition parts on a white frame - that would be super cool.

Titan, is this possible, pretty please 🙏

I know each model has plenty differences, wheels, tyres, all of that makes a big difference to the total weight. Thanx for all the advise so far gents.

Check out what I have found on the BIKE ADDICT

https://app-1805.appdeep.link/products/8023955505449

I would say this is a MUCH better deal, those SX drivetrains are really cheap and nasty, for basically the same price, you are getting a FAR better drivetrain, brakes, rims and just better parts in general

Maybe speak with Bikeaddict and see if they would be willing to do a parts swap for a fee, the worst they can say is no
