Surely you could run much lower pressure for kids that size? On my xc bikes I run 0.8-1.2 bar, if I’m planning to ride more on tar then I’ll run 1.5 bar

On a tubeless tyre the low pressure might be fine but 20" tubeless just not available so running std tyres with tubeless conversion. Not sure how a non tubeless tyre would handle low pressure below 1bar.

That I understand but I see some others are running tubeless on the kids bikes

@Barrywe`ve done two conversions, no problem and the children run very very low pressure.

Almost 2 weeks and many happy miles on the tubeless conversion and the STD 20" Titan/Veetire co tyres are holding. I did get some rim inserts to change from schrader to presta  but in two minds if i must fix what is not broken

This is my version of a "Hybrid Gravel Grinder"

Started off with a +-2014 vintage Titan Cruze Mtb frame.

IMG20250726130410.jpg.8ea2b8b5b391b80d69e6fe439b700f31.jpg

This frame was completely stripped of all paint, back to bare aluminium. A coat of Rustoleum etch primer was applied.

IMG-20250805-WA0022.jpg.d564c9e64bf2ef7c0661b4c8913b26f3.jpg

Then started the process of laying down two layers of Rustoleum Metallic Copper spray paint followed by two layers of Rustoleum Gloss Clear coat.

Adequate time was given between the different coats/layers for the paint to flash of and cure before applying the next coat. (no polishing was done yet, this is the way it came out) Decals was printed by a gentleman in Brackenfell at a very reasonable price and quality.

The components fitted is all second hand items taken of my old gravel hybrid I built a few years back. Only new cables and inners was fitted as well as a new Shimano BB.

Components is 10spd SRAM Force shifters mated to a 10spd SRAM X9 rear derailleur with an 11-36 SRAM cassette and Rapide 36 tooth NW chainring fitted to a 3 X Shimano Deore chainring (some fiddling with the spacers was needed to get the chain line good as I'm running it 1X) The chain is SRAM 11spd. Shifting is good, as the components are all well run in and in good condition, as well as properly adjusted.

Handlebar is a Rapide 440mm Gravel bike item.

Brakes are well used Tektro cable pull jobbies. These work fine on the bike after careful set-up and adjusting. Braking is as good as if not better than the Ultegra's on my road bike.

Tires are a mix of 38 mm Tan Gravel king on the front and a 40mm Maxxis Rambler at the back, fitted to Ksyrium Mtb wheels of unknown age.          Fork is of an unknown brand to me, carbon jobby with huge crown and clearance all around. 50 mm tan wall tires will be fitted as soon as I have the funds, as the tires currently fitted looks a bit anorexic in the frame.

Seat is a hand-me-down from a friend, mostly because there is some color coordination going on.

Seat post is a Richey aluminum item.

Only done one short shakedown ride as yet, and I'm quite impressed with the ride quality, and nothing fell off during the ride. Lol...
