Made these Garmin Varia mounts for @Furbz these are for a Bontrager saddle and screw directly into the Bontrager mounting holes. The man was adamant they should be anodized black and what a good decision!

Hot off the CNC machine...

This to fit the Spez's screw-in mounting would be amazing! I recently got a Varia, the OEM mount is "acceptable" but not great...

If this could fit my bike/saddle, I'd 100% buy it.

Thanks for the great pics!

I have a need as well...out front mount, Garmin Edge on top, Garmin UT 800 light below. I have a GoPro adaptor for the mount underneath but because I'm a lazy git, I don't want to always un-screw the light from the GoPro mount....so I searched for. Garmin - GoPro adapter, found one in Thingiverse:

So then bolted a Garmin mount to underside of out-front mount but the issue is that it can only be mounted 90degs off from the top mount...which means that if you use the Thingiverse mount, the light is off by 90 degs. So I jimmied the drawing and rotated the GoPro "ears" 90 degs and printed a few modified GoPro mounts.

All works nice but the unit does take a beating and the 3D print units are a bit brittle (EPX), would love the entire Garmin and GoPro adaptors to be machined out of ally.

very cool, I run pretty much that exact set up on my bike, but a machined version. It's so convenient being able to swap the light between bikes (which is why I did it). When I was prototyping this a couple of years back I also found the 3d printed ears would fatigue over time. Here's a little video, definitely some room for a bit of refinement on the "go pro"side...

Very neat! A couple of double ups happening there as well...Garmin to Garmin to GoPro!

How did you get that Garmin mount to fix to the out-front mount?

The male garmin under the out front mount is tapped with the same thread and spacing that the female Garmin at the top uses, longer screws sandwich it together.
The reason for using the male garmin is to have the same interface as the standard garmin out front mount which was on the Mtb.

Ahhh, OK very nice! Longer screws is the answer, eliminates the need to rotate everything when using the other 2 holes in the mount which are offset by 90 degs! Cool!

The Specialized SWAT mounts are finished! These Garmin Varia mounts are CNC machined and anodised in Cape Town. They are supplied with a durable injection moulded insert. Feel free to DM me if you would like to order one. IMG_6954.jpeg.d16fe42d41ddaf2399536ab6f875183d.jpegIMG_6953.jpeg.914dc6597624e5fa67e6a23ca730770f.jpeg

That is super cool!

Like I've said before as much as I'm a fan of 3d printing I would not trust my expensive Garmin and other devices to 3d mounts .... Not without a secure tether as an additional safety to the bike!

Maybe just me though

I agree, 3d printed mounts tend to fatigue over time from the constant road chatter and taking bigger hits (potholes). This seems to be the consensus from most of the guys I’ve spoken to who have tried them.

I am also a fan of 3d printing, it certainly has its place.
