Hi Guys, the guy who were scamming people back in 2020, is at it again, now going by the name of Mitchell Barrett.  Attached are previous complaints about him as well as the message he sent me. Thanks to the guys who posted the previous alertsScreenshot_20240313_133418_Gmail.jpg.8684a4f7e18a343d288f232929dd028f.jpgScreenshot_20240313_133418_Gmail.jpg.8684a4f7e18a343d288f232929dd028f.jpgScreenshot_20240313_133437_Gmail.jpg.27cb0d73f56046f214be081926d87598.jpgScreenshot_20240313_131643_Chrome.jpg.1784955b86c22e70ba4810f7fd2093c5.jpg

The usual way too often used "working offshore on an oil rig and want to surprise his cousin" nonsense. How dumb/brave is this guy?

Also how dumb/brave does he think other people are. Amazeballs🙄

Its not a a guy , its 10000's of them that use the same copy paste on 100's of mails they send every hour

If one of those bites then they really pull out as evident from the above

Hi

I'm Mitchell Barrett, Im not selling anything at this time (and haven't for ages)

Feel free to contact me if in doubt.

Take care

But what are you buying...?

Have you been pwned perhaps?

Hi also contacted me about my bike for sale via FB Marketplace.
Correction: I think that it was via Gumtree asking for my email address. The contact name there was Principle. And then it was Mitchell Barret via email.

Similar story, but insists on paying via Payoneer.
Somehow logging onto internet banking and doing a normal EFT isn't secure...

Anyway, I said: 'Funds into my FNB account - cleared before the 'pickup agent' collects. Otherwise no deal.'

He didn't like that, so we don't have a deal.

Hi, this person contacted me as well trying to buy my cycling shoes. Wanted to do the payment through Skrill.

Hi Jill

Thank you for reporting this.

I tried to find this account but I don't see any suspicious interactions with your cycling shoe adverts on Bike Hub.

Also Bike Hub does not reveal your email address to buyers. How'd they come by your email address?

Mitchell Barrett<mitchellbarrett745@gmail.com> Skrill Scammer is back.
I posted a Gumtree Advert for a Kids Mountain Bike and he responded. Similar to what is communicated below.
He wrote to me .... this is a surprise for his son .....  and then talked about how amazing  Skrill payments are.
When I asked him where he is based, he said that his cousin from Paul Roux will collect, which is near Bloemfontein and I'm based in Durban.
Mitchell Barrett<mitchellbarrett745@gmail.com> doesnt seem to want to meet face to face and only wants to pay via Skrill.
This guy is a real scammer, be caerful out there. Only do Gumtree deals if you can meet face to face and use cash or instant EFT`s while the person is in your presence.

Here are a few screen shots from the email conversation.

Be careful out there

Yep. I had some interaction with him too.
He went quiet when I said that nothing will happen without the funds appearing in my FNB account.

Also, what is this 'pick up agent' that these people all refer to ?
I suppose, in a world where Skrill is secure, then pickup agents are a thing 🤣.

The rest of us use couriers, because that it legit with tracking numbers etc.
