The first few days after a "huge" crash

You wake up the next morning. Cant get out of bed because ribs are cracked or fractured; Knees are painfull; Wrist sprained. You are buggered. Pop a few pain tablets and life goes on. After few days you are bored because the bike is gathering dust and you know that you cant ride.  You want to get right ASAP because your next favourite race is just a few weeks away.

Anybody else that has gone through this lately?

speak to steyna. remember how he wanted to pack it all in a coupla months ago.

don't get yourself down. look at your time off the bike as a refresher. when you get back on, it'll be a rediscovery.

Came down in the Bakwena last year @ about +/- 40 km's. Broke a rib, concussion and internal bleeding. So doff, did'nt want to go to the doctor because the 94.7 was the following week. Rode the 94.7 - 3.25 was hoping for a sub 3  - and went to see the doctor on the Monday...Off the bike for 4 weeks...Always know better being a cyclist... Don't get flu when your ribs are off, and don't sneezzzz....Cry

Twizza MTB race in Queenstown on Sunday. Pedal got stuck behind a branch of a tree that was cut off at 30km/h and landed on rocks, about 3km from the end. I also crashed about 4 yrs ago and broke some ribs and tore muscles in shoulder then. Its just a pain in the butt.

Almost the same, Rock climbing incident (read:dumb ass) back in easter weekend, off the bike until next week. Had the mtb serviced meanwhile, and now it is starting at me with an expression that is frankly starting to scare me. Good luck with the recovery martelpypie.
