I have the cheaper Xoss for a back-up for when the Garmin acts up so can't really comment on the maps (which is the actual info you are looking for).

My unit is very basic and lacks the options you have on the Garmin, but its reliable and does the job, had no issues syncing with Strava, phone & heart rate monitor.

Looking at the manual @droo posted you have the option to load maps via the app.

Seems the app for loading maps does not work too well

Sure its something that can be or was fixed with an update on the app

My view if you want something simple and cheap that can do a basic job the XOSS will work fine, if you are hoping for something similar to a Garmin at a fraction of the price you will be disappointed.

As @Skubarra says, the XOSS is a very cheap device BUT it punches above it's weight in terms of features. Only downside is you can't really do much with your stats and downloads other than keep it on the XOSS App on your mobile phone.

My XOSS G+ which is just over a year old is no longer charging - the supplier no longer stocks the item other that it's accessories (which must now be obsolete). they say the computor is out of warranty which is understand. Omnico are in the same position ie they only supplying obsolete stock ie cadence and HR accessories. any ideas? i'm wondering if XOSS themselves will answer my emailed query

Good luck @The itch

I've had mine for roughly 4 years now and I have had zero issues.

There’s stock in the country. There are some “grey imports” so Omnico won’t warranty units that aren’t imported by them.

The 'live chat' on the XOSS website wanted a video of the charging status , video of non pulsing battery image sent and 'it' replied 'sorry out of warranty'. the item was purchased in July 2023 from Cycle Lab. i suggested to the 'live chat' that i had a dud and that they should at least stand by the quality of their products by replacing it. 😒 needless to say the 'live chat' died a quick death. any other suggestions for a wireless cyclo computor

Take a look at the Magene C606 cycling comnputer. A solid little unit for a good price. The guys at bicycle power trading bring them in.
