32mm in saron and 46mm in porterville. 

 

was at an agri day at delsma in riebeeck yesterday and the road from hermon to deli-co was fine. will go drive the bit from the halmanshof silo to the oefen bult segment on strava this afternoon and report back

We basically had 1 day of proper rain. And in comparison to the previous 2 years, it’s been nowhere near those levels of rainfall. It’s also going to be bone dry this weekend so I wouldnt stress too much. The route will be fine.

Someone can give you the exact numbers, but basically the 1st 5km until the turn-off before the farmstall. Then 30kms in there is roughly a 20km section on the Hermon-Porterville road and then about 2/3rds in there is another 5km. So my guestimate roughly 30km of tar.

6% tar according to strava when you create a route from last years race

Only advice I can give from last years experience is be very well placed when you turn left onto the gravel after the first 5km's of downhill tar because all hell breaks loose after that 😅

No damage. Also wont be very dusty. The bit as previously mentioned is still just very bumpy and sand in parts.

Always a fun day out. I'm going to say it was more rutted than last year (purely to explain my slower time than last year 😂).

Also much warmer than expected, but did appreciate the well stocked aid stations.

Got caught out by that same last "round the farmhouse" bit as last year where the signage was lacking, but aside from that this will always be a staple on my calendar.
