Very true actually, I want to do a sub 3, ideally 2.45, not sure why that number.

Did the 105km Groot trap in 3.06, itt for many many kms, so I think I have it in me, and more so if I find a good group hahahaha.

But thanks, let me give it horns in the open cat this year and see how it goes

Sub 3 is definitely manageable if you start with a decent enough group. 2:45 is a different animal, I would like to know which groups other than vets and elites achieve that. That 15 minutes makes a huge difference.

FYI If you ride for a charity you get a better starting time. I rode last year for the first time, for Border Collie Rescue, and start time was 07:00 I think. I would never have started there of my own abilities 😂

With CTCT the charities start later ...

I see preliminary seeding came out today. I see the last group starts at 7:55, seems like a very poor turnout?

First time for me this year. How is the parking set up. Ample or do you need to arive early? Thank you

Parking is ok but try be there an hour before your start time to give you time to park, get organised and make your way to the start. Watch out for 'unofficial' parking guides trying to make a quick buck off you outside the venue. There's always going to be congestion because so many people want to be there at 5:00 even if they start at 9:00 which doesn't help the people who actually need to be there early.

Good luck, its a lot of fun out on the roads there!

Correct...

Moving the event for the G20 was definitely a blow, i hope the organisers are supported.

With all the new registration points, does that mean the usual expo is no more (at least for this year)?

I also have an inkling that there probably is no expo this year judging by all the registration points. But, I am not very happy about the new registration points. FNB Stadium is only available for registration on the Saturday, and that's the one day I cannot go to JHB for number collection.

Also, FNB Stadium is the most convenient location for me, coming from Sasolburg. Now I have to go deep into Sodom and Gomorrah for number collection. Hopefully our cycling club does a mass collection on our behalf, which would save me time, money and city driving frustration.

Registration at the stadium was available as an option when I entered, but only on Saturday. So they will probably scale it down.

@Jaco Steyn I’m in VDBP(and I belong to VTCC). If you change your collection point to West Rand Cycles, I’ll happily collect your race pack for you.
