Hi guys,

thinking of taking the plunge (when cash allows) and getting an e-bike. Was looking at Outer Cycles… and was wondering how the ride is compared to the Trek Rail (and or others)

I get the differences in motor and battery spec, more interested in handling and “on trail” feel. Is the ride similar?

TIA

For the price you can't go wrong

Great bike and also a great base to start from if you want to do upgrades

Love mine. Components and local support ath this price point is unmatched. Outer/Lyne also very helpful if you need anything. Which you won't.

I get the feeling they are here to stay and a growing brand. There were so many at today's Enduro. We all shared the same grin.

I’ve opted for the Deore spec for my e bike rental fleet. I needed bikes that are reliable and fairly simple to use. To date they have been amazing.

Where are you based? If you are in the Western Cape and want to do a drive out to Tulbagh I’m happy for you to go give it a good go on our local trails.
I’ve also sold a few of these with zero comebacks and smiles all round.

Thanks so much! I'm in PE and was asking for a friend. Will pass on all the positive feedback to him... Well done to Outer for a great product!

My wife is keen on an e-bike and we're considering one of these. How are they holding up 6 months later?

They’ve not skipped a beat. I do chain replacements after around 1000 km, keep the drive train clean and have done suspension service to keep the moving bits in good shape. Electrical components are holding up very well.

Very interesting - can I ask which spec you use and where these can be found?  The website seems to go straight to finance options so not much on specs (that I can see).

I went for the Deore Spec. With bikes in a rental fleet the last thing you need is an App that wants to update all the time. There are 3 power modes. Low Med High. If you want a bit more customisable setup, go for the GX spec. Comes with the fancier controller that links to App and lets you change stuff.
