No Scott teams, no Bulls and no Spez team in the ladies race.

Beers/Nortje must be clear favourites.

Nope. You know this race isn't won here at the prologue.

Bulls haven't challenged for a few years so don't leave any gaps. Scott is missing yes but still some serious fire power in canyon, willier teams and orbea.

It will be amazing if this saffa pair can pull it off for the first time ever but still crazy amount ahead to call them clear favourites.

With the factory teams yes. Budgets are tighter. No Trek team no Cannondale Team.
but that said, even the prologue village was comparatively empty and Bugarol #gees

its a shame

I watched the elite men and noticed very few spectators spread along compared to previous years at Meerendal.

Single farm, single entry, parking full by 7.00 ... some participants cycled to the venue.

Spectators had to cycle in.

Previous years crossed multiple farms, peoviding much more parking and spectating opportunities

Yes, less spectotors = less gees ...

Speed company not impressing at all.

Maybe I'm reading too much into the situation but Georg Egger seems to be off the boil since he became a dad. Every year since 2022 he arrives later than Lukas (like in the past week late) and struggles with the heat in the first few days. I can't see them being a factor this year with this pattern repeating

Doing the Epic is a huge commitment, not just from the rider, but also from the rider's family. One can understand when the rider puts a higher priority on his or her's family.

My cousin did the Epic a few years ago. I asked him afterwards if he would do it again, and his answer was no. He said the commitment to training regularly hit his family too hard.

what goes on here?

11 team got slapped with 30min time penalties for time separation and 1 team got the 60min slap for not informing the officials of their withdrawal?

totally understandable. I just wouldn't put too much fan pressure on them basis what im seeing. There is clearly a higher priority in his life. He's fit and fast enough to be at the front ish but I doubt he's putting in enough to win it again. This is how prioritization works

There was also an unnecessary comment about personal vibes mentioned on commentary about Georg...

Think it was arianne saying "goerg was struggling with issues at home and it would be interesting to see if he got over those issues."

Strange comment to air in my view

ah ,i guess that aligns with observations. A professional sports career is not 9to5 and it can be hard on the partner since they're left with the crying children. Problem, the other party signed up so its unfair to ask for change when what you signed up for pays the bills and lifestyle
