Practically ... consider the USB-C to Garmin charge adaptor.  Less cables on the desk, and easy enough to have a spare in the car and at the office .....

Many such options -

4-Pack USB C to Garmin Watch Charger Cable Adapter | Shop Today. Get it Tomorrow! | takealot.com

But, yea ... let's see if a Hubber can help you out.

you can buy a cheap one at most of the little cell phone shops for a much reduced price like everything they do. I think the one in the cape in most shopping centres is techno shop or techno stop. Where they cell phone screens, batteries, phone covers etc.

I have one for you. If memory serves, it is still in its little plastic bag.

Will make contact by DM, thanks!

Have you tried cleaning it ? put the Garmin end in alcohol for a while. It normally releases the springs. Also clean the connector on the watch with alcohol and a toothpick. Fixed a few like that.

ya i gasped at the price of an OEM cable to buy as a spare, ±R600. The aftermarket ones don't engage so well unfortunately

I bought an aftermarket one and spend to much time  propping it up, so that it keeps charging and you don't come back a few hours later to an uncharged watch. It is a straight adaptor and does not sit well under the watch, and the magnetic hold is not very good

Think I need to bite the OEM bullet
