Help with Harley type bicycles

Recommended Posts

Last year at the 94.7 I saw a guy and girl riding together on bicycles that looked like Harley Davidsons (Laid back chopper with a really fat tyre at the back)...

Anyone know who makes them and sells them in SA?

Thks

Hi SwissVan

Phone Joneene at Linden Cycles 011-782-7313, they had one in the shop a while ago, so she may be able to help with a supplier.

Regards

What is that? Like a piece of outdated engineering that makes a hell of a racket, costs a fortune and everyone wants one. Myself included.

And no cruiser will be complete without a set of these.

I saw a couple too - stopped (or slowed down at least) and had a chat with them about the bikes they did tell me where they got them too, but it appears I am getting old and my memory is fading :-(

I seem to recall they were an american brand - schwinn or the like

Who remembers the old 3 speed Chopper?

& then there were the spin-offs - Raleigh Chipper, Tomahawk, Budgie and Chippy

Stop fartarsing around. If you want a chopper, get one with at least 140 spokes per wheel.  This is not about weight, aerodynamics or carbon. Keywords are excess, shine, outrageous.

By the way, take one for a ride before you buy. They're nice to build and look at but not for riding.
