Haha in the sheltered environment I grew up in the only violence I saw was in the mosh pit - and at the end of the song - everyone picked everyone else up and went off to have a beer together. Must say, thinking back, with the alternative clubs there were never fights and stuff .

I think it had to do with not really fitting in with the "accepted norm". I don't believe we went out of our way to fight anyone. We were a naughty bunch! But not agressive, Not like skinnies from Rosettenville anyway. Those kids were hectic.

Edit: Over share x 1000. Good evening, as you were.

Started at Subway ( embarrassingly young), then Le Club, occasionally Club Images (punk stage ????) then The Doors. Never a big Junction fan. Went back to UK for a bit so missed a few years here in Jhb so think I missed quite a few clubs.

Subway on Beyers Naude(DF malan)?

No. It was a club only open on Saturday nights on Pritchard St in Jhb. I am not sure how long it was open for as I think I caught the tail end of it before it closed. Beyond dodgy is a very polite description ????

I'm one of those that discovered U2 late in life, listed them as one of my top 5 bands of all time - but over the years, they've become so insipid - this is one of the last songs of theirs that I like. A mellow wind down friday song.

Fashioned myself as a pretty big U2 fan, but their recent (last couple of years) was pretty meh.

Still enjoy watching their live stuff tho. Their 90s shows were pretty epic at the time

yeah the latest one that they forced down the throats of apple users is awful. When it comes up on iTunes - i hit the skip button hard. Some of the old classic anthems - like Sunday bloody sunday though - still hits you right there.
