Sorry for the late reply Pruinaar...

If you log onto the Subaru owners club website (www.subaruclub.co.za) and you join the forums, you will see the guys there have very little respect for Subaru on Bryanston. Apparently the worst Scoob dealer in the country.

I drive an Impreza, and my car only goes to Scoob in Midrand. Guys are friendly and they never try and schnaai you. I would strongly suggest taking your car to them instead...

Best of luck man... it is an awesome brand!!!

i drive a Forester and i didnt buy it due to them sponsoring mtb asnd so on, i bought it because it had everything i needed at the time. A good price and a good car.

i love my car, it had a problem that it overheated once within like 3000km's i phoned them took the car in and had it back by lunchtime. not a problem since. My first service, booked it in and they phoned me after lunch and it was done. Subaru Hatfield by the way

A bad dealership does not make the whole brand and car bad, but i see where you are coming from.

I just read this and was thinking of this thread. Is it a country thing or just one unsatisfied customer or one bad dealer?

The biggest German Automobile Club (ADAC), which is THE institution in the country when it comes to car drivers lobbyism, just did a survey about the customer satisfaction.

I like the Subaru but their dealers are useless.

Two years later, I'm still waiting for them to contact me re an Outback. I gave up eventually and I'm thankful to them for not coming back to me because they have no resale value. definately a car to buy 2nd hand. Let some Car allowance corporate whore take the knock and I'llget one furtherdown the line

But I'd dearly love to get my grubbyhands on an old Landcruiser for surf safari and Mtb adventure duty

I got an AVIS upgrade to a Forester during one work trip all over KZN...did some expremental amateur rallying on extremely wet and muddy farm roads when no one was looking and the car was AWESOME, would absolutely love to have one of my own! (which I will drive more sedately....)

Any of you guys gatvol of your Forester wanting to sell it on...PM me!

A subaru should be serviced every 3000KM as the oil gets thicker making the chances of your engine blowing very high. Dont be fooled by the 12500KM service interval stated by the stealership. I do 3000KM a month and it doesnt make any sense for me to pay R2000 each time i show up for an oil change. So i did it myself. Very easy.

Jack the car up on the passengers side, remove the plastic cover under the car (5screws and 4 plastic pop screws). My oil drain plug requies a 12mm spanner.
I bought 10w40 oil R200 and an oil filter R56 from autozone.
Dont forget to fill the new oil filter with the new oil as well.

Subaru's whole WRC hype is nothing more than a bit of marketing...

They've won 2 driver's titles and ZERO manufacturers title in the last 10 years - and they aint gonna win either this year...

Can you tell I'm a big fan?? Turbocharged plastic....

OK I guess you are a Citroen fan. They do seem do be on top of their game in the WRC at the moment, but do they have a marketable, ready to race and some good service model available?

Second in the WRC is Ford. Do they have a ready to race model?

Only Subaru with the STI and Mitsubishi with the EVO has.

Plastic!! Maybe youre driving a Hummer1 Heck, like that will last in good ol rsa.
