Mr Price Sports

One of these shops opened on the West Rand and I picked up a pretty cool cycling top for R170 and a cycling rain coat for R130. I will stay away from their shorts though. They've got MTB shoes for R300 aswell.

Mampara, I bought 2 of their shorts, just for short road training rides or for "I know I'm gonna fall" MTB rides.  Quite comfortable, not to shabby at all!

There are a couple Mr Price Sports stores open now in Gauteng:

- East Rand Retail Park in Boksburg (North Rand Road - opposite the Mr Price Home)

- The Hendrik Potgieter store mentioned

- Festival Walk Shopping Centre in Kempton Park.

 

The kit is decent, but nothing special (other than price).  The same kit has been used for a few years now by the Mr Price Westville club and the other Mr Price sponsored teams, clubs and academies.

Turk, here you go. This is one of the men's tops. The ladies one in this design is nice as it is pink, grey and white. The only thing that I don't like is the fact that the rear pockets are see through mesh but does have a reflective strip.

Went to the Boksburg one when they 1st opened, but they did not have much in the way of cycling stuff. Think i must pop in again to see what they have.

Is it basically a sports clothing store, shoes, etc like say Total Sports or are they in competition to say Sportsmans Warehouse where they will be selling basic product as well.??

They sell mostly their own brands like Maxed, Trail and Red but they do have some Asics, Addidas and other big brands. They are not as big as SW and not as exclusive as TS. They have some sports equipment under their own brands but mostly clothing.
