[/quote'] I had the same experience in Suriname, When I explained that my "gebrookte Nederlands" was actually Afrikaans the reply was " Oh is that the language of Africa?" This from the Maroons (descendants of West African slaves) Trying to explain about the vast number of African languages just resulted in blank looks. Company policy was to use the first 5 letters of your surname and the first two letters of your name. Since then I have found it to be very convienent on the net since it is uncommon.
