Am I correct in my guess that Marius is a member of the WT/PPA/Rotary cartel?

Is it a coincidence that the other race with prize money issues (94,7) is also connected to this crowd?

Hey Staal PM me and I will tell you in person how much integrity I have. What's your real name' date=' big guy? [/quote']

just to show what a **** this "staal" character is, he lists bodybuilding and boxing as his interests.

what a box

Oi Buggalugs

I like boxing.I boxed at school.

My son takes kick boxing at school

Have you decided that all followers of boxing are ******?

Where do you get off?

sorry mate - thats not what i meant.

i meant he's trying to be intimidating by listing bodybuilding and boxing as hobbies.

Ok! I will

come clean. I was in charge of the second sector of the race, the part going past

South Gate and

turning of on the M1.

Not so much

being part of the management team, but pulling my weight where needed, I for

one know what effort goes into the planning and managing of the race. Just referring

to my sector, I was up at 2 in the morning putting up signage and sweeping the

road. We had a hell of a problem with taxis coming from Soweto

going to South Gate

and being downhill cyclists where going tremendously fast, yet at my sector

there was no incidents. This can only be contributed to the hours of work that

have gone in before the race.

There is a

multitude of sectors with people like me putting in a lot of effort. To read

these kinds of defamatory remarks, after all the work that has gone into the

race, was unbearable. I know Len as a man of exceptional integrity and a specialist

in his field, as the rest of the comity. You have been apologised to and if I

am not mistaken you have received your money, why keep perusing this? As you

know all the proceeds are given to charities in the Gauteng area ? so we are all working for

FREE!!

The matter

of the delay in the prize money has been discussed. Maybe you can help clarify

some of the rules for us. How long does a cyclist have to make an appeal? If it

is only a couple of hours than I will personally push for payment on the race

day. If it is a couple of days than that is another story!

we are not assosiated with the 94.7

I used to compete at provincial boxing level

Thanks Marius, that's a bit better. As you know, we as cyclists can best show our appreciation for races by entering, showing up and competing. If prize money is advertised, it is only fair and square that we should get it; in this case, the prize money goes to my team mates, 200 bucks each. Believe me, not one of us needs it...but when we get a result, we do like to celebrate.

Anyone who races with me knows that I am the first to thank every marshall on the road; don't for a minute think that the work that goes into a race is not appreciated.

I will also tell you that logging on anonymously and giving me a pasting and telling quite a few lies while doing it, is unlikely to earn you any respect here.

As you can also see, there have been numerous other people who have had problems with prize money. It is simply not fair, just or right that we should compete out n()ts off, then have to waste time being ignored.

Bet you're wondering how I figured out who you are Wink us desk jockeys can be smart like that.

As per my email to you, feel free to call me and discuss should you choose to do so. Hell, I'll even buy you a beer.

I would also like to add, I was fortunate enough to get my butt kicked the past weekend by Intern and I happen to know a little bit of history regarding the man.

The money won't change his life, but it's purely a matter of principle.

Hopefully you can now get road cycling admin back to where it belongs and dothings for whom it matters, the cyclist. We hope and trust your future input to CSA will be fruitful and well heeded to, at last we have a voice a reason to take care of road cycling issues and who is not scared to speak his mind.

You know Staal. If I had woken up at 3 in the morning and worked all day to ensure a smooth race and I found out some schmuck on my team was not even bothering to reply to polite requests for money I'd be pissed with that guy' date=' not defending him. I'd want to put as much distance between him and myself as possible. Something like the distance between Intern  and the first of the fun rider pack is what you should be aiming for. Everyone can understand that it may take time to pay out but he least he could do is have the manners to reply. I I were you I would find the One Who Is Fast . . . .Asleep and gently nudge him awake, maybe get those old boxing gloves out your cupboard and dust them off on his face. When he comes around whisper in his ear: Hey LENNY! WAKE THE ****UP! YOU'RE MAKING US LOOK LIKE POESES HERE! I'm not saying he should actually come up with the money. Just send a quick Replie like: 'We have mailed your check to you and you should recieve it any day now.' Or even tell the truth like ; 'Sorry we have more white pieces of paper than green ones'
