as a roadie , i never made a point of it to look for the mag specificially.

And never seen it in the local newsagent i visit infrequently.

Can some one point me in the right direction - Northern subs, Cape Town, i would like to have a look at the mag before subscribing.

I'm sure anything is better than Bicycling!

Having been doing some research recently i came across alot of comments about MBA that reviews are based on the advertising budget for that company with them.

... Intern ... if you put in more pictures ... you don't have to proof read so much :-)

Do you have a way to measure if people actually read all the articles? I leave my mags next to the throne ... so if I read one page a day ... I can only cover 30 pages in a month of one mag ... unless I extend my throne time or increase frequency ... Smile

One of my thoeries as to why magazines will never go out of fashion (at least not for cyclists) is the read by the throne. Every bikie I know does it.

And as to knowing who reads what, having worked in media for 10 years I absolutely know that every word you write is read and scrutinised. When I was working on a knock and drop in Heidelberg in 1998...that's when I realised that one!

Hey Trackz I had no idea you were in publishing ;-) ha ha

Awesome mag, we hoping its gonna stick around for a while, where there is land there is a trail, it doesn't need to be marked with a lil sign, there is so much riding in our country, u just need to know where to go! my favourite is the backpage and thumbs up to the Imana article, makes me wanna do it! keep it up guys!

although they are better then the other two' date=' they are not on par with the UK mags like Pappa Bear mentioned, sorry HR, SB, Intern and all others involved. [/quote']

I tend to agree. Whenever I travel I try and pick up a copy of the local MTB and road cycling mags. Recently I got a copy of Australian Mountain Biker and even those filthy Aussies have a better mag than us!

I picked up my first copy of Tread at my LBS, and yep! I think its the sh!t. Also featured a pic with 2 of my mates (the Lamont bro's). I guess time will tell if this is going to be another publication with articles copied and pasted from overseas mags. I mean we are all tired of the "How to do a 3 hour argus" or "How to loose weight and gain Power" type of articles. What would be good is a proper race section that includes reviews, profiles and maps of the routes in the various provinces. And not just the National Series events, but some of the smaller races as well.

Hubbers how about mailing all the trials you know to the mag then Intern can start a listing for the trials(who where what price etc)With more cyclists turning to MTB this would be ideal as the advertising from the race organizers does not reach the man in the street who you actually want to get into the sport.
