Wayne, that is pure porn! What's wrong with the pulleys?

Here are some pics of the wheels on the bike.

@Delgado: thanks man! What do you think I ought to do with her: down tube shifters or ergos? Thanks for the offer of the wheels but let me first get this baby on the road. I've only ever had two rides and both were with Sh1tmano :(

@Greyowl: where are the levers? smiley2.gif

Great thread!

My projects have slowed a bit of late. Was away for a bit. Had a look at my stock of frames vs bits and it looks like I need to build rather than scrounge bits for a while. Long of components, short of built bikes. Latest "work in progress" - an old steel Look & a Bridgestone - still not finished.

Built a fixie with and old waterpipe pug frame - jeez what a nice smooth + SILENT ride. All you can hear is the road noise! Trying to ride the fixie backwards - has anybody ever perfected this??

Re-building a Mongoose for my daughter. Interesting little bike - also "retro".

Anyone got a decent retro headset lying about - even a Tange will do. Also - who has any old Suntour stuff?

Yebo yes' date=' BB. Means I've had to make some slight changes to my plans. I've either got to convert the ratchet in my 10spd shifters to 8spd or find another pair of shifters. Anyone keen to swap me good condition 8 spd Ergos for a pair of good condition Centaur 10spd Ergos? [/quote']

?

Hey Jules. If you are still keen on 8spd ergos' date=' I will have a set available by the end of this week or next week. Will let you know which model they are when I get them....

Wayne, thanks I'd be interested. Have been talking to Velo about his Mirage shifters but obviously it would be nice to have a pair that's Chorus or Record. I like the idea of down tube shifters but this is a bike that I plan to do quite a bit of riding and even racing on, and I'm not sure how happy I'll be about going back to down tube shifters.

Nice machine GT and it looks like it's in good nick too. I like the chrome and what looks like a columbus sticker on the fork?

Are those Wolber rims?

Yes those are Wolbers, and the worst is those are dura ace hubs with bladed spokes.

I paid R400.00 rand for this bike and then gave it to a good frind of mine.

wow there have been some nice pics posted here.

Thanks so much for bring a great thread to life.

I'll definitely watch this topic.

I've been so disillusioned with responses to my searches that I've been shopping overseas. Its great to know local appreciation exists.
