I'm planning on making my long awaited return to Crit racing tonight after having recently come out of winter hibernation, so I'll be joining you CB in the pain and suffering department.

 

Hopefully, my leg hairs have grown long enough to mask the brightness of my white legs.

I went along and did this crit last night.

It was way more fun than sitting on a spinning class for 45 minutes. The "technical" aspect ie cornering at speed, was the best part.

 

I think that Sonic lapped me at least 4 times. It seems that the tactics are to do 2 slow laps, then hammer for 10 laps then die for the rest of the time. After 14 minutes I had already been lapped twice. Really good for one's esteem!

 

Thanks to the guys from Northcliff Cycles who swept the entire course with brooms before the start and provided free cooldrinks afterwards.

Crit racing is always fun.

 

Lungs take a hammering and legs feel like jelly afterwards but fun nonetheless.
