Uhhh. There is a lot more young riders that has proven themselves over years and this last year that they are worth it to be in such a team. But how could i forget. The poor other countries just need to get better chance by wasting us and seems if we forgot how to ride a bike!!

I heard a rumor that Cape Town WILL come to a halt, whilst roads are closed for this event......... Lets wait and see.

I competed in the u23 World Champs two years ago. Am not allowed to start in the Elite champs cause Nam is rock bottom on the rankings (although I am allowed to do the Elite TT for some or other reason..).

Silver would be rather nice. haha

Good day all

Butafly people such as yourself must first read a post properly before commenting I made it clear I am against quota selection systems. Yes we have volunteers heading the current Development section.

Why has CSA not taken the proper route of making this a full time job as yet? It is simple and easy to tell the Lotto board what you are doing for transformation and development yet you have no prove whatsoever as to an end result. Use the money correctly and we all will gain in the sport and look forward to having another notch filled without any suspicion raised( Case in point Sifiso Nhlapo BMX champion).

As a matter of interest "Andrew McClean can take a young rider and a road wise rider(persons of colour) under his wing for two months and have them achieve remarkable

results at a tour thereafter what have they achieved back at their clubs. What is the club actually doing to promote this youngsters and develop them properly.Does this not tell us something.Has CSA taken note of this and thought of asking Andrew how he has done it? ( THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION NOTHING TO DO WITH ANDREW, HE DOES NOT EVEN KNOW ME.

Good day all

Butafly people such as yourself

meaning..........what.  you contradict yourself. "the team should be representative of the country" in political (ANC) language that means so many ethnic blacks MUST be in the team.......like i said "please correct me if i'm wrong"

Chrispy my plea to these youngsters managers/coaches is please keep them going in this direction even when the times become tough and when they make the conversion from juniors to the seniors as this is where they are lost in that first season because they cannot produce results instantly and we become impatient with them.

Now the scenario: If Csa had it own academy these youngsters could be drawn in and worked with in all aspects from nutrition through to physical testing and tweaking correctly to build them into future champs competing on a level playing field.

smiley1.gif Good point Mallo, but theres nothing you can do about other people's stubbornness. ZippIt, thanks for clarifying to these moron's what the champs are about. it would have been good if they went to the UCI website and read about the champs before they made comments while clueless.

PEET, I think you suck!!!!!

Hey Dudes and Dudetts...

Its quite simple why they have selected the riders that they have!

In order to compete at the B-grade World Champs you cannot have any UCI points on 1 January 2007. If you do like 90% of us, its a NO, NO - thus it illiminates all your top riders.
