Request to men: Pre-race etiquette

i have had many occasions that i needed a number 1 during a race, but there's no way i'm going while riding, what a stink afterwards

It's probably not my problem during their race - I don't ride there. I feel sorry for the other riders that get hit with pee by an incontinent adult.

 

My real issue is men who are too lazy to walk/ride 100m up the street, but to whip it out and whizz against anything, anywhere before a race in clear view of women and small children.

If you're in a racing category, it is not hard to ride to the front of the bunch, pull over and do your thing as the bunch passes. If you're lucky, you'll be done in time to latch onto the following team cars as they pass. I have done this many times. I've also seen that when one oke stops, it encourages others to stop, and then everyone can work together to rejoin the bunch.

if a guy piss in the bunch in front of me and the piss hits me - I will def ride up to him inclip and trap him of the bike!!

 

Don't mind the pissing in the race. Go to the back and do your thing on the bike, or as mentioned ride to the front pull over and do the call of nature - maybe others will join if not you can catch the back of the bunch

But then there was the guy when I was stood in the packed Anfield Kop on a Weds night, who did it on the terrace during half-time.

haha, I saw him do it too, was quite impressed actually. He pulled out to the side of the VA bunch (so as not to annoy anyone) and did his stuff.

Impressed because it takes quite some control to take a piss when riding at 40km/h+.

And so what of it, if you need to during the race, then you need to, end of story.

I agree though, urinating on someones wall with total disregard of others is just stupid and unnecessary, especiallly with the portaloo's next to the start line...

Public urination is very common in Africa.  In some countries it is common practice to whip it out and let fly, where ever.  However, in South AFrica we are a lot more reserved (stuck up) about exposing ourselves (or letting others do it).  Maybe it is our Calvinistic upbringing coming out, maybe it is our first world mentality about hygiene and health, maybe because on this point me are right.   I don't know.

In the US and UK if you pull little Johnny out for a bit of fresh air (or a wizz) in front of children (little johny jnr), that would make you a SEX OFFENDER and neither you or your littel johnny will get fresh air for some time.

 

So where do we go from here, public urination being okay , or the guys who do it being declared flashers and sex offenders?

 

Maybe if you see the guy do it again, go up to him and ask him if he is advertising his services, and for how much, as you know a pop singer who is desperate for a consenting adult............

yep, if you need to go, go. Dont piss on someones wall, car, hub or anything else.

 

Keep it natural and out of viewing then its ok. back of the bunch at 40km/h or pull up next to the road and water the garden
