Tour de Frans - best service

Thyolo

LBS couldn't cope with trueing my Spinergy wheel and had me diving all over town looking for tools.

Took it to TDF at 5 yesterday - they fixed it while I waited and then didn't charge me.

Great service, cr@p business idea you'd think - except now I want to spend money in their shop even though there's ten others that are closer.

Oh and of course they get a free ad here.

Very cool

My son flew in from CT on Sat afternoon. He landed at 2.45pm

We managed to get to TDF at 4.00pm to pick up his new Scale 40

Frans kept the shop open just for us even though he was late for a wedding.ClapClapClapClap

As always Frans and his guys pulled out the stops.

By the way Frans, the Scale 40 was put to the test on Sunday over 80km of narley Botswana bushveldt and came out tops.

Thanx for the help!

i will also say great service and as Thyolo would say, there is a few LBS's right around the corner from me but i will go there, they did a bike fit for me for nothing so I was back there again, buying my IDT and many times after, and will see me there again...

i was amazed at the way they treat you, you not a customer when you walk in there it's like a bunch of friends, when i walked out, Frans still gave me a pat on the back "enjoy your riding", now that is service.

If i had to pay for every self botched self cycle fix that Frans and Riaan have done and not charged me for i could have bought a new bike. Nice thing is he's not in it only to make a profit, but if he feels you are wasting your money on an upgrade or dont really need something, he will tell you so. Asked him once about fitting a compact and he called me lazy and chased me out his shop.

Now this is what I want from a shop. I don't want to spend thousand so that they can then decide "oh, it's now time to start giving him good service". Damn, why are they so far away from the west rand.

Oh sh!t I just checked - they've given me this wooden thing with bits of tree creeper for spokes and chalked "Speeneergee" on the side.

D@mn that explains why there were no lights on in the shop and why everyone was smiling as I left.

I could tell u few intersting stories but seeing that everyone is a happy clapper then lets leave it at that.

My tip would be to make sure the lights are on and you can see your property the whole time.

Cheers SwissVan

Fair's fair - you must tell us your service horror stories.

My fave so far was in Malawi where my friend's Range Rover went in manual and came out automatic.

i understand, it could be possible if the workshop is behind closed doors, but they not, and you can view the workshop and what they doing all the time.
