Why would I pay R 100-00 to know my 40 km TT Time?

R 100-00 vir dit klink vir my 'n BIETJIE duur.

'Internationally, cyclists (and Triathletes) 'know' their 40km TT time, just like riders here in S.A. always know the time they do for the Cape Argus Pick 'n Pay Cycle Tour.

So this presents an ideal opportunity to know your 'Audi' time, your time for a standard 40km TT.

You know your 'Argus' time,

So what's your 'Audi' time...'

As ek regtig wil weet wat my tt tyd is klim ek op my fiets, ry 'n plat roete vir 40 km so hard as wat ek kan. Hoekom sal ek R 100-00 daarvoor betaal?

Nee wat Faniefiets, moenie so cheap wees nie!

Ek dog almal begin by Soetwater? Great

They have an event to sell - buy it or don't.

PS: What is your best 40k time?

Ek weet my tt tyd jou bobejaan.

Die reservaat gedeelte is amper 30 km....so ja, so 6.5 km of so wat hulle moet opmaak.

My bad, didn't realise you had a tough day.

You're right, R100 for a time trial is insane. They should pay us to ride it. Better still, there should be naked FHM models at the finish to...whatever.

Fanie, ek weet R100 is dalk meer as PPA, maar ek wil graag 'n regte TT ry wat die ouens my time.  Dis 200 @ R100 = R20,000 in totaal.

200 ryers (een elke minuut?) sal 4-5 uur vat, so dis baie support of is ek optimisties?

The way I understand it is that this will be an event that is intended to attract national participation with serious prizes on offer. It will be quite a big event if it comes off.

I am sure that "know your 40 TT time" is a marketing statement so don't read more into it than that.

As willehond says, road closure, timing and prizes all cost! ... and as someone else said if you are not interested then don't let it bother you! Move on.

Fanie weet sy tyd want hy's n UCT guinea pig. Laste maand ry hy 40km TT elke week... Not everyone has the opportunity to get involved in the testing...

The event is from  soetwater to the Reserve Gate not into the resereve. So road closure/marshaling coasts do apply. Give them a break!!

I love to compare my times to the good/best riders and I've done the Giro TT up Lion's Head and I suck!  The Soetwater-Cape Point Gate route gives 'big boned' riders like me a better chance against the clock.

Once I've done the route against other riders I can go back there and try to improve my times without paying the 100 bucks, but I am all for a nice TT.  Seems like there are no others around and I welcome one, if it's well organised and run of course...

Talking about costs, I went to the Tygervalley Vodacom World of Golf (or driving range as I know it) over the weekend and they wanted to charge me R69 to hit a bucket of balls.  Now that's a rip-off!  Don't even get me started on real golf, but then again, if your on the Hub you probably don't care about the fat man's 'sport'.

Pay the R69, get your bucket of balls then leave Tongue. Much cheaper than buying golf balls from their pro-shop. Its normally R15 for one teitlist ball...

That is going to be a tough course, a long hard drag up the back of Red Hill and possibly into the southeaster, or home into the Northwester.

It is cool that they have separate catagories for TT and unmodified bikes.

Why doesnt someone head out and give it a crack over the next day or so and set an early benchmark. We could hold a free Hub TT series.
