nice titbit:

Only once before in the 104-year-old Tour has the race leader been expelled.

In 1978, Belgian rider Michel Pollentier, trying to evade doping controls after winning a stage at the Alpe d'Huez in the Alps, was caught with an intricate tube-and-container system that contained urine that was not his.

Haha the first year I watch the TDF and every one is doping.

Get all excited watching the dual between Contador and Rasmussen and it's all a joke.

Wonder if there will be a TDF next year.

At least dopers ar being caught and we don't hear about it 10 years down the line. I'm convinced that there are dopers that are getting away with it' date=' but the controls and system is getting harder to beat. Nobody is tollerating doping anymore. It's a very good sign that teams sack their team members before they can be caught out by ASO or UCI (or anybody).

True I guess I'm just disappointed. Only started cycling this year and watching the TDF gives me motivation to get on my bike every morning and cycling for an hour. Thought if these guys are crazy enough to pedal for 200km every day the least I can do is get on my bike and do 30km.

Anyways they still had to train alot to compete in the TDF doping or not.

All of this is bad publicity for cycling. But I believe things are moving in the right direction. Now we have the second TdF with very bad publicity. Don't think for a moment that the riders before that doped any less. They were simply not caught. Now they start to catch more cheathers. I bet this has made some riders think twice before doping. Maybe some riders would have cheated and now don't, because  chances are they will get caught. Vino and Moreni (not sure about chicken legs) have to pay 1 year's salary as a fine. This is money that can be used to have even better controls.

This is so sad. Every year we hope something good will come of these issues, but it seems that we live in hope.

We do not even know who last years winner of the tour is.

Until his positive comes out then what will we all say about TBW???

On the upside of all of this it does look like there is a clear line being drawn now. It looks like the teams are now buying into the "zero tolerance" thing. Of course the cynics will say that Rabobank had no choice and/or that he was about to be busted anyway.

Professional cycling has turned into a joke.

you're not the only who believes that. this is what bradley wiggins had to say:

"It makes you think about your future as a professional cyclist. You ask what is the point, I could do better things with my life. "

ok, this was in reaction to the moreni dope test, but you get the drift

Think on the positive side' date=' Soler is now in 9th place overall, GO BARLOWORLD !!!

Good thing Soler took the polkadot BEFORE Rasmussen got bumped.  Soler deserves it fair and square.  Great to see him take the podium yesterday an the final mountain top finish!

Allez BArloworld indeed!
