Final team for worlds

you know what puzzles me the most? jhb and surrounds attract the best cyclists in the RSA all the pro teams are there , the money in cycling is there but their provincial and club structures don't seem to be firing on all cyclinders. Jhb (CG) just hosted the SA Track Champs, it was a nightmare (if u speak to the participants). when last did any of the Gauteng provinces host SA's Road , other than when SG pulled out and N Gauteng saved them. i don't see anyone from these areas sticking up their hands to run CSA like it should be. the the big question is, if the current exco of CSA aren't capable of running CSA then put your money where your mouth is and tell us who should...

I read through all 17 pages and found it quite enlightening and rather worrisome.

I dont pretend to know if Ronel should have been picked over another athlete and I dont make any assumptions or opinions on it, but the point raised by Crux is very appropriate "how can a selector who has a personal relationship with an athlete be expected to make impartial decisions regarding that athlete".?? - and nobody has really had an acceptable answer.

Surely, allowing this gentleman to be involved in this selection process in the first place is a sign of poor governance by the controling body or at the very least I would have imagined they would have asked him to excuse himself from this particular selection?

This kind of partisan decision making is not allowed in business and not allowed in government - why is it alowed here?

This is getting a bit out of hand now, firstly all the ladies that were chosen or that even made the list all deserve to go.  The racing on Saturday was hard and tactical, thats why the groups split many times. None of the hubbers that are complaining were even in the bunch ( and probably are only men complaining) Its funny how easy it is to sit behind a computer and moan about a topic that actually has nothing to do with you. There will always be cyclist that should of, would of, and could of gone, but at the end of the day a decision was made. Does the oaning never end of this web page? I take that as a NO. Lets show our support to all the girls that are going and in general lets show our support to ladies cycling.  My 2cents worth.

Cashandra,

So the treatment that Ronel received is acceptable to you????

We should just accept that and move on????

We should just ignore the injustice and give them Carte Blanche to do whatever pleases them, and to do it again and again and again?

I'm sorry, but I think not!!!

Hear hear Cruxpearl, I agree with you 150%,

it's about time that we stopped accepting the shambles we call CSA and the Selections, Start making our VOICES heard. If that means we need to start here, then so be it.

But to turn a blind eye to injustice, then we would all be Ostriches and getting a right Scre wing...

But isn?t this the standard of CSA, it?s been done like this since ? forever - and will be the norm in future. It?s like farting against a thunder storm.

...and I agree something must be done about this.

As licensed cyclists we surely have a say/opinion/viewpoint or is the CSA from the ANC school democractic thinking.....ie. pay me and p1ss off???

Cashandra

There are some woman who ride in the ladies bunch that feel that Ronel has been unfairly treated for some reason or other. The issue is that this isn't the first time it has happened.

I agree that all the girls on the list deserved to be there but I feel that the final desicion was very biased and those who have brown nosed got in and those who haven't have not....that is not right.

...And it looks like me and a whole bunch of others are tired of having good talented athletes skrewed over because they don't suck up!!!

I has been out of hand for the past 15 years....what's your point?  Confused

firstly all the ladies that were chosen or that even made the list all deserve to go.  .

Yes they do....but not over others that has done better than them and is in better shape than them.  That is wrong!

The racing on Saturday was hard and tactical' date=' thats why the groups split many times. None of the hubbers that are complaining were even in the bunch ( and probably are only men complaining) .[/quote']

True.  Men and non front sitters in the bunch.  But none the less people with vested interests in SA cycling.

You are looking at current sponsors.  Potential sponsors (This is the people you are now so rudely pointing to...hope they notice you!!!Ouch).  Selectors.  Board members of CSA.....

Just to name a few of our non front sitting men frequinting these Hub pages....Clap

Its funny how easy it is to sit behind a computer and moan about a topic that actually has nothing to do with you. .

I think I have just proven your point null and void in the previous paragraph....Dead

HELL NO!!  If it does, then cycling SA would be doing something right and people wont litter, cyclists wont misbehave and I would have a better attitude!!!  Thumbs%20Up

Lets show our support to all the girls that are going and in general lets show our support to ladies cycling.  My 2cents worth.

In general the support has always been there from our side.....just not from CSA's side....that's all.  Sleepy

well, technically speaking. Ronel is SA champ? UCI rule states that National champion has immediate selection into worlds.. not true??

thats the only reason why Nolan is in the team. ie: a sprinter in a climbers race.

csa make rules but cant even use there governing bodies rules

Point CSA is F**cked up!

no two ways about it
