Carbon crunch it depends what weight you are talking about. Percentage fat lost is not going to affect your performance as long as its within the healthy range, but 32Gi wont cause a loss of muscle mass at all. Weight is not the important factor here its about power to mass weight ratio and as long as your muscles are not breaking down you will be fine, 32Gi does not cause this at all, it purely deals with your sugar levels and allows for stabilization. As mentioned to others you can take in additional calories with 32Gi, it will just lower the GI and taper you off nicely. But if you want to spare the glycogen as much as possible, stay away from the sugar until its really needed. Your focus around your weight should be around your daily nutrition, and pre and post training nutrition, thats the key.

Ok great, thanks!

Just wanted to show you all something which is a realistic demonstration of how 32Gi actually performs. I went riding in the South this weekend, 130km, 4 x 10minute intervals 5 minute recover to start, then nice comfortable pace and then 4 x 10minute intervals with 5 minute recover to finish. Meaning I had to have the legs for the last hour and that was truly putting myself into the red zone. Especially with the last hour in a head on wind and the last interval finishing up butchers hill. I went out with two training partners so you can chat to them to verify. But anyway the link to my route profile etc is attached. Saddle time was 4.5hours.My RouteNutrition was as follows:Pre-Training: 2 x slices of low GI seed loaf with apricot jam (no sugar added)1/2 serving of 32Gi in 200ml's of waterDuring the ride:2 x 750ml bottles with 1 serving (50grams) of 32Gi in eachTook on some additional water an hour before the finish but no additional energy drink. That was it, I finished very strong up butchers, no fatigue no lack of energy, yes my legs were tired but if not then I would worry lol. Not to say that additional calories cannot be taken in, but the point is that it was not needed. Recovery MealImmediately a soya isolate 90% to 10% MDThen a breakfastRolled oats, low fat yoghurt, honey, sliced fruitStrong filtered coffee no milk no sugar. Ate normally through the day no excessive calories at all.

Thanks M, this worked like a charm on my 4 hr ride this am. The only change was my recovery meal was a toasted bacon & egg sarmie - tastes better than a soya isolate (whatever that is?) I would say!!

Some adive. Be aware what contains sucrose and what contains fructose. Genuine corn syrup is better than any other gel. Although it is High Fructose Corn Syrup using it when you need to will NOT make you fat... contrary to what most will tell you. Most energy drinks contain sucrose. Most of the time Sucrose absopbtion paths become saturated, this is when Corn Syrup will have an advatage because it is fructose and those pathways remain open for absrobtion. It when sucrose absorbtion paths become saturated and you continue to take sucros than you fall flat. Your body cannot absorb anymore and oops there goes you toilet! Always drink water after a gel and avoid energy drink within a half hour window of taking a gel. It's just safer and you stomach will thank you for it.

Also Glutamine should be taken on it's own with water. Glutamine mixed in an energy drink does not have the full effect. If you're doing Iroman and longer endurance events be sure to include Glutamine in the mix. The additional protein will assits with various types of synthesis as well as assist in decreasing the hydrogen-ion concentration is muscles.

Make sure you get plenty of minerals too. Most athletes just look for protein and carbs.

Have fun

Stay away from that 33joe crap. its for woooosies and fannys....

Used that **** at the Oudtshorn 3 day mtb race.

Day one. BCAA and the hammer was down until the end, and even then it was still hammering

DAy Two 32Gi. i was as dead as a door nail, absolute flat response....

DAy Three BCCA and Anabolic Nitro. and Yeee F&*ken ha

Eventually went on to finish 22nd in the GC...

So take that crap and go make bunny licks with it.

When you take a race car to a race do you put unleaded in it...no hey you use Afgas 110octane with touline

Did the 94.7 yesterday with 32Gi. Took a bottle of 32GI 30 minutes before the race and had another bottle 2 hours 30 minutes into the the race, only drank water during the race. My energy levels where fine, only thing I felt very bloated at the end.

Tcr1, I think you should really learn how to strategise properly with nutrition, and you will definitely take your 22nd place down to a top 10 ;-). Its evident from the statement above you dont understand proper nutrition on stage racing. First of all, pre-race meal and recovery meal, glycogen repair, and then racing effort all play a part from one stage to the next. Also day 2 of a stage race is usually the hardest as it goes on you find you get stronger.

Also mixing 3 different types of nutrition, or make that 5 on 3 different days, now thats a real downfall. You cannot test one against the other or even give a proper reflection of how you feel on a particular day with a particular drink. Maybe if you had started day 1 on 32Gi you would have felt good, and day 2 no matter what you took felt bad.

Anyway, hope u put some proper thought into your nutrition when you race and stick to it, you might even place.

And remember one thing, your fuel is your glycogen, not what you put in, the trick is to spare it. No such thing as rocket gas, in a Volkswagen beetle ;-)

best of luck

David how long did you ride for an how much liquid did you consume, it sounds like you might have consumed too much, remember there is an effect called gastric emptying, the body can only absorb so much water per an hour you might have over done it, in the heat.

Had a great ride on saturday.

Mark, the neutral flavour is great.

Where can I get more?

Mixed two scoops (that neutral packet) into a hammer bottle (maybe 100ml) drank half on the way to the ride.

Drank the other half maybe a hour into the ride. Tasted perfect just like that without being flavoured.

Only took one bottle with me as I thought the ride was going to be shorter.

But we had some splits in the group and a puncture (not mine for once) and the ride ended dragging on for a hour longer than I thought.

Well the last 30 km I had to literally push someone up every hill we went up, so we ended up doing 100km in 4 hours instead of 3.

In that time I only had 1 bottle of fluid (32gi) with me and I had mountains of energy in me all the way. Ran out of fluid in the last 5km, but I was fine though.

Anyway, I know that I have gloated about this stuff a few times, but I have only ever had amazing experiences when using this stuff.

I dont understand how people can moan about this, if it is not working for them then they have to be doing something wrong!

This makes it obvious you did not buy your own, and are using sponsored supplies.

Your "experience" is not scientific at all ! You are obviously just advertising for a sponsored product.

Last Sunday I did a 4 hour cycle on nothing else but water and peanuts. Had an AMAZING experience ! Felt so good the whole time. It must be the peanuts ! If peanuts is not working for someone, they HAVE to be doing something wrong !

I wish I was sponsored.

eerrmmm... hint.... hint Mark.....

Unless you are willing to sponsor me Topwine?

I am on my second bottle of 32GI that I bought with my own money.

This neutral flavour was giving to the 10 first people on the hub from Mark that mailed him after his post the other day.

I have read through your previous posts in the past and I know that you like to shoot down this product.

I have previously tried many other things, yes even game cooldrink that you recommended in one of your posts.

Everything else left my stomach feeling uneasy after the ride and I would always suffer big time towards the end of my longer race.

I noticed an immediate difference with this, no uneasyness, sustained and a constant energy supply throughout my ride.

Maybe you dont believe me. But I dont care.

I know what works 100% for me now and I like to speak about it.

Awesome.

Why worry about the packaging.

Its neutral, just a empty bottle will do!

A vacuum packed bag in the mail would be even better! :P

I have now been cycling for the last two weekends using 32GI and it would appear as if the stuff works- no more headaches, etc after a hard ride and plenty of energy in the tank
