32, 1.86m, 87kg, 8%bf, measured by means of skinfold test with caliper. You will get the most accurate measurement between this method and by mean of infra-red measurement.

I so badly want to get down to 85kg but my wife says I have no more fat to lose. From the research Ive done 6% is the bare min you should go, things gets dangerous after that.

If you want a professional measurement done call Dr Nico Ments(Pretoria) on 082 772 2471. They specialise in this area.

Geez, what are you, a bodybuilder? That's one heavy frame you have

edman, isnt that quite light for a head?????

what could that mean????

Hi Edman, thats a strange result, as the legs tend to carry less body fat, in actual fact its why a 7 point test is far better as the legs tend to lower the overall %, never heard of this scan but will check it out ..............

I believe DXA is currently considered the most accurate measure of body composition. It can give a breakdown of bone, lean and fat tissue mass and volume. Caliper tests can be innaccurate as they only measure subcutaneous fat.

2% Dude, not ripping you but as an athlete I doubt you would be able to perform.

I was involved in the world of bodybuilding for a few years and 2% is what is know as "Death Paper" Ronnie Colman (MR Olimpia) gets to betwean 2-4% before major showings, he can only stay at that for a few days and then has to pick up, he basically starves himself for days and just drinks water to get to that.

Mohamed Benaziza was another that used to get down that low, he collapsed on stage during The Dutch Grand Prix IBBF Champs and died of a heart attack, in my days the lowest I ever got on stage was 3.8% or so, its bloody damn hard, and like climbing everest.

Yeah, Ronnie is awesome. I was / still am a keen follower of the sport, not much good myself but I enjoy the entertainment.

I attended the show in Durban when Arnold Schwarzenegger posed in the early 80's, those were hardcore days, Tom Platz, Franco Columbo, Frank Zane - gee remember him, superb, Arnold was huge and ripped, he said at the show he had only eaten grapes and drank water for the last five days, the next three days he would only drink water and then he would take lasix to dehydrate completely for the competition - I mean thats dedication.

You aint gonna be doing much trail running in that condition.

I remember all of them. Frank Zane was very well built, not too big, was probably the only one who didn't attempt to look like a monster. Platz was at New Dimensions in Krugersdrorp years ago, he did squats until he almost passed out, and they had Oxygen handy to keep him from passing out. Those legs were HUGE. I 'inhereted' old Ironman (not triathlon) magazines , and Flex , and Muscle and Fitness from my uncle. Local guys, remember Reg Park? My uncle knew him and got all his programs from him. Got to a stage where he was too big for the biggest suits.
