chris_w_65 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Read this and then let us know if you do or don't break the law Admin should make this PDF stickyPedal Cycle-v3.pdf
chris_w_65 Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 I just redid the pdf and formatted it a bit better, it is down to 10 pages now so more readable.
Thumper Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I have never ever in my entire life ever broken the law.Chris and my drug dealer can testify to that
dirtrider Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 So from what will they deduct these penalty points ?
Redline Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Reg. 311(2) Pedal cyclist failed to ridein single file oh oh.... don't think anyone will be legal?
Tuxstir Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 'Operated on a public road a pedalcycle which was not equipped with atleast one brake that operated on therear wheel or wheels" does that mean a fixie with no proper brake is legal?as you still have the hop lock and skid brake
chris_w_65 Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 I see there were a couple of laws that didn't apply, I removed them and updated the pdf - 9 pages now.
chris_w_65 Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 So from what will they deduct these penalty points ? There are no points for cycling offences. Where did you see points?
dirtrider Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Sorry just saw penalty . I see there is another section for demerit points
chris_w_65 Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 It appears as if the hubbers who claim to never break laws are not currently logged on. If they were I am sure the second option would have votes by now.
Tumbleweed Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Okay, just scanned through…but didn't see anything about riding under the influence
Mavro Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 About time that our government implements something. I can see things coming together in SA. I support it 100%. You definately got my vote for the next elections. :-)
covie Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Whats the point if no traffic official will ever enforce these laws. Hell when i was 8 and i skipped a red light on my BMX I got a R50 fine and my ass whipped by my dad, thats like double jeopardy.
chris_w_65 Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 Whats the point if no traffic official will ever enforce these laws. Hell when i was 8 and i skipped a red light on my BMX I got a R50 fine and my ass whipped by my dad, thats like double jeopardy. The point is that some hubbers say it is wrong to break any law or to try and interpret it differently (as in have a light instead of a reflector). I am waiting for these hubbers to speak up and tell us they don't break any laws. So far they are very quiet.
linnega Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Okay, just scanned through…but didn't see anything about riding under the influence There is a general rule that requires no driver operate a vehicle under the influence, whether tin can or pedal cycle.
covie Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 i dont break any of these i dont cycle on TAR
