Althoug I stay in Somerset West, I would apreciate any advice as to routes to ride to reduce the wind effect, depending on wind direction. racman Posted October 17, 2007 Share I normally do Stellenbosch and back as Sir Lowry's in the afternoon would be suicide. But the wind in the afternoons is ridiculous. The one afternoon this week that the wind wasn't blowing and I got stuck on the road with a puncture !!! (i can't even ride in the passenger seat when my wife is driving - what makes you thing I am going to do motor pacing with her driving !!!) ShortLegs Posted October 17, 2007 Share Always ride into the wind to start your ride. Rule of thumb is to ride for 2/3 to 3/4 of your planned ride time into the wind and then turn and fly back.
