I had an accident in Cape Town about 2 months ago, was riding past a mini at 40km/h when the door swung open and i went straight through the window (frameless doors) on to the tar and the car behind me swerved to avoid hitting me.

3 people stopped to help, 1 guy walking past and 2 guys in cars, organized paramedics and the security response in the area to help out. One guy called my wife for me.

Fortunately i was not to injured, just lots of cuts, bumps and bruises that stitches and painkillers sorted out. Very cool of people to help out and wait with me till my wife collected me.

Guess it depends on the area?

Thanks for all the well wishes guys. Just heard of another 2 people that have fallen badly on that same track in the past 2-3 weeks. Best we all watch out for it in future!

Good story, Chubba!

Good thing the door window was frameless, man.

One cannot generalise about the hearts, minds and attitude of peoples.

I do know the world is rushed out there. Pressure is lots.

Which makes the state of society less relaxed and caring.

Sorry to hear bt that but its not these days. A car hit me when I was 15 years old and that was around 20 years ago and this during rush hour traffic at a traffic light and not one person got out of their car to come see if this kid was ok. Its a sad society we live in but Im sure there are still good people out there.

I've had mixed reaction

When i was bike jacked a few months back i was walking back home, blood dripping from a broken nose and stab wound in my hand and side. Received plenty of stares but of the hundreds of cars that went by including a SAP and metro cop car (so much for protect and serve) only 1 couple in a bakkie stopped to ask if i was ok.

Another time i was riding out Meyerton area when my crank bust, a group of riders stopped and 1 guy phoned his wife to fetch me and take me back to my car. Another incident was in the Suikerbos reserve when i totaled my tyre on a sharp stone, plenty of cyclists rode past and stared, Tumbleweeds ex was the only cyclist to stop and ask if i was ok, then Delgado's wife appeared in a little yellow van and took me back to my car.

Roadies

Sadly not hey, at Midrand Meander mtb I was doing ok, but punctured 6km from the end, I walked 3km with bikes whizzing by before some old oompie stopped and offered a tube.
