Where will we find pics?

Also keen to see the pics, but can't find any on the Stillwatersports website. Anyone know where we can see them?

Oakpics normally do the Xterra pics - takes a few days to load but generally they are very good photos. Not the Argus style pics.

Thanks, I just checked Oakpics.com and there is a link there for Xterra pics but the album is empty, guess you're right about it taking a few days. Will keep checking back. I want some memories of how rookie I looked attempting my first triathlon!

Thanks, T-girl - and you too. I had such a similar experience to you, re: the calf cramp and the second buoy taking aaaaaaages to get to. Once I went round it the psychological barrier was broken, I knew I was on the home straight and I just eased into a steady freestyle rhythm.

Bleakness = the fact that my t-shirt (size medium) looks like a tent on me. It must be an American medium!

I had to laugh when I saw people taking their shoes and socks off for the dam wall crossing, its Xterra for goodness sake peeps ;)

You must have been laughing at me  Yes it was my first xterra and I really had no idea what was in store for me  Swimming rivers and mountain climbing up the side of the dam wall. Next year I will buy myself a pair of salomons then I can take a dip in the river as well ! Maybe then I will be a bit faster as well

Hi Guys,

Anyone doing it this year 28 Jan 2012?

I'm doing the lite, my first tri event, very excited!

Worried about the MTB though, anyone know how difficult it is?

Cheers

I will be there, its a great race.

The MTB is not tough at all (provided you can ride a mtb fairly well). The hardest part of the Lite (assuming you are doing that, forgive me if incorrect) is that you need to have made the Full/Lite split before the big boys come past.

Stoltz/Hugo and co take no prisoners on that bike course, and there is sometimes not plenty of space available for two bikes.

The run is great if you do the full, along the waterfall. It is however quite undulating.

Good luck for your prep and will see you at the start!

It is a very nice event. The only part I did not like was when we were heading out on the bike course you had the lite race guys coming back on the same single track. There is at least one uphill section that is very steep and rocky so depending on what everyone else is doing you may very well end up walking that section. Oh yes I loved the run section where you get to cross the river. Take a few minutes timeout and sit in the water its very refreshing. Also theres a section where you get to climb up the side of the dam wall very steep, wet and slippery. It requires some very basic climbing skills. So take care you dont want to slip and break something. At least this time round I will have a pair of decent trail running shoes.

Girlfriend and myself have entered the lite. Been at a local venue's pool for the last couple of days, its amazing to see how unfit one is when it comes to something like swimming, especially if you swim like a brick!

I guess i cant ride a mountain bike fairly well then.

The bike for me was very tough and rather technical.

Awsome event ,a must do bucket list type of event.
