True covie, most pro chicks ride saddles like men.

womens spes bikes are a load of crap, the only things they do is shorten the handle bars and put on a ladies specific seat. If you look at most of the girls that take it seriously they ride with men's seat, but with the cutout. And just buy a normal bike have the LBS measure your GF's shoulders so that they know how much to cut the bars to make the bike fit her.

lol read the heading and thought some guy was trying 2trade his girlfiend for a MTB hahaha :D :P

Read it too, but thought he is offering a MTB to anyone who could supply him with a girlfriend. Could do with a 29er hardtail myself.

Immediately wondered whether he would accept an (ex) wife (as good as new, low kms, no dings, only used on tar, regularly serviced, size small, 1985 model). Ok, I lied about the model year, but you'll never know the difference.

Girlfriend wants to get into MTB, what is the best Womans Specific dual suspension bike on the market in the R10k to R15 000 range?

You got too much money to burn dude.

I just bought my wife a Merida (good chicks bike) tfs 800d for christmas. Pimped it with XT stuff so she's stoked about her new toy. I wouldn't spend too much money on a bike for the lady as you generally tend to see them ( the bikes) hung up a few months later not to be ridden again till the next holiday away. My wife has every good intention to go out and ride twice a week, but with kids at school etc it's difficult for them to find the time. Maybe you're lucky and she makes the time for it, in which case spend the money on a good bike.

Agree 100%

The doctors told my dear old mum she can't run anymore, 13 Comrades' later so its been, well, a good run for her. So cycling is the only option to keep her sane. Got her a very nice (WS nogals) FS of the hub for a good price, she's ridden it once at NF. It interferes too much with her 2011 comrades training... Nuff said

dont know much about it, but WSD made a bit of sense to me. basically the leg:torso ratio is totally different for men and women in general. makes sense that the triangles are in different proportions then.

aren't WSD the same pricing anyway?

or is it just scmarketing at its best(worst)
