Shebeen Posted January 29, 2011 Share Ok, medic alert is still around and charge you R190 initial and then R60 per year. A bit pricier.Suppose the bonus with them is that its an international disc so if travelling it'll get recognised. http://www.medicalert.co.za/medicalert-id-emblems.html
pezulu Posted January 29, 2011 Share We used to use SweatSafe.I called the ER24 call centre to confirm the tag number, and the operator did not know what a SweatSafe ID was. This happened twice in the space of a month. After that it was goodbye SweatSafe, and hello to ICE-ID.All the details you need are on the tag. According to their website, the standard looks like this:NameCityHome telephoneICE contactMedical AidQuote or Slogan Ours is:Name ID NumberICE 1ICE 2Medical AidMed Aid Number It can't hurt to be different. You can fit more valuable data in if you combine the Medical Aid and the Medical Aid Number into a line - Then you can have BLOODI rather have ALLERGIES instead of ID NUMBER
Naztec1 Posted November 22, 2019 Share I don't know the ice id but sweatsafe that's another store . My son had a wipeout with his mx bike last week Friday . My initial contact the operator was not sure what I was talking about . When we eventually got the ambulance there the medics where awesome . When I showed them my sweatsafe card they did not know anything about it . My son was taken to arwyp medical center . Then I showed them the card they did not know anything about it . Plus minus R 18000 later spent on CT scans and whatever else needed to be done they wanted to admit my son . The quote came to R 54000 upfront payment . I made contact with sweatsafe and they informed me that they do not cover casualty and that they would only look at a claim post hospitalization . BE VERY CAREFUL . THE PROMISES MADE TO GET YOU TO TAKE THE PRODUCT DO NOT PAN OUT .
BassoBoy Posted May 3 Share Anyone got any recent experience with Sweatsafe (successful claims, identification in an accident)? Switching insurances and wondering if its worth it for the 50k/ 100k private cover? At this point I am just thinking of just getting ICE ID. Open to alternatives also

Had a nasty off at an event last year. Fainted at the medics, blood pressure stayed very low for almost an hour. Was good to point to my ICE tag and say: "If needed, all my information". Thankfully I was okay after 90 minutes. Worth noting that ICE does volume shipments to Cycle Lab, saving you courier costs.
