How far do you commute ?

My best time is 1:20 as I got to hook some other guys to keep the tempo/speed up but normally its about 1:4 .

33km each way.... Flat and fast with a Cape Town south east behind my back most evenings home.... Thanks to the West Coast cycle lane

Just started commuting from Tableview to Maitland on my fixie. I am loving every moment of it and arrive at work completely amped for the day. I am also saving myself about R2K a month, as well as, reducing my carbon footprint so it's all good. I was in Europe recently and was once again blown away by how many people commute. Cape Town has really great commuting infrastructure so now it's just up to us to change our mindsets.....

aaarggg, thats very far...spelling commute takes longer... lol

anyway, changed my route, to something a bit "flatter"... usually rolling hills from Parktown to Krugersdrorp via Empire, past RAU? , through Westdene, Newlands, and on Ontdekkers. , changed route to go past Emmerentia, past WestPark Cemetry... ended up climing 400m compared to the usual 260... ouch.

Did my 1st commute this morning, 25km to work and will be 50km back long way. Also took it very easy on my way to work. No sweat and took me 50 min. This wind is gonna kill me this afternoon.

I have showers at work.

 

My wife does not. She has a plastic basin that she uses to put water in to wash with.

No I also dont have showers. Use as basin and works like a charm.

I am going to start commuting to work from next week would be from Springs to Germiston 44 km one way will start of with twice a week.
