I'm not in any way involved other than as a spectator and even from my viewpoint, trying to get info of the route, schedule of events etc has been terrible.

On my way to work this morning, there was plenty of marshalls at the different intersections, but did not see one at the point going into town. Mark my words, there is going to be a serious accident there. The municipality has built a new kerb that juts out into the middle of the lane. Cyclists coming down that hill at 60 odd km/h are not going to see that kerb and someone is bound to hit it. I was, at least, expecting cones to be placed there or a marshal with a flag to warn the cyclists.

guys i stay on the route and it is shocking stuff. Having marshals that know nothing about rules of the road. Don't know where they found these people. I think those marshals think those sticks with red material on the end are to lean against when they they tired because they not using it to caution motorist of the cycling event in progress. While watching time trial a big bus turned infront of the cyclist.

Not good guys

SA's should be more central or closer to Gauteng...isn't that where most of the 'racing' riders come from? Or am I wrong? Klerksdorp was brilliant last year! A bit hot though! I went through 6 bottles in 120km... :o

Hearing via the wires the Vets 30-39 are only doing 86km.

To fork out R2000 for a flight ticket, paying accomodation, reconning the route and having it change the morning of the race and shorten it to only 86????? Worlds is 130km...

NOT AYOBA!

I hear it is really a mess. SOme of the guys even missed their start because of the change of the start venue. The route is so tough that the guys are walking up the climb. This is bad for PE.

Andrew still said after Klerksdorp last year that SA's will stay in Klerksdorp for a year or two and then all of a sudden it is in PE. Klerksdorp was great last year! They even had a pre run on a weekend to smooth out any unforseen problems.

I saw a pic of Jeremy and some of the DCM okes dragging their bikes up a hill. Don't know if they were just taking the p!ss.

blame EP Cycling - they were the ones to apply for it so they should make sure all is in order.

Not necessarily. The provincial cycling organisation can only organise so much and some things need to be arranged by CSA and traffic officials.

If either do not do their job on the day, it results in a balls-up.
