  1. https://mtbapp.co.za/introducing-nanotime-a-small-start-to-a-big-movement/ Exciting!
  2. Loads of hikers, not many mtb (report from friend that went a week or 2 ago). I think there was an incident not too long ago?
  3. This ^^ E*13’s 9-46 is what I use and at some stage the wind resistance becomes your biggest factor. My frame can only take a chainring size up to 36T and I paired it with the 9-46. I do not know what others are saying when they are “spinning out” ????
  4. Hoping for a good outcome, Guy!
  5. The SLX version is “only” R78k. So not really R190k. What would the frameset options be? See the previous now “old” frameset sells for R40k.
  6. @Bluewhite, why 2 bar? Are you a heavy guy?
  7. I use surgical gloves underneath my regular full finger gloves when really cold. Just remove once the world defrosted. Then layers, pair of checkers plastic over the toes (over the socks) on the inside of my shoe.
  8. Sigh, I was on my way to a DH KOM not breaking my Cabal’s top tube looking down at my perfect length socks and almost correct gearing with my compact crankset. In the midst of it I got about 10 extra watts by shouting “STRAVAAA!” at the max speed! All to no avail, it only shows I am 6th and nothing else! Will I go premium/summit/paid again? Sure, once my Zwift has ran out.
  9. “Dlamini-Zuma says 22 000 submissions made with regards to exercise”
  10. I prefer wider tires. I have Ikon front and Rekon Race back on my mtb, both at 2.35. And that skinwall must be at least an extra 10W, would be my next buy if on special!
  11. We were ten enjoying the trails on Sunday. Couple of hikers and other cyclists were seen. After the rains it is beautiful. As a rule we do not ride this or Voortrekker or Klapperkop alone. I think Groenkloof could be as busy as Rosemary/Red Barn with a decent place to eat and some sense of safety. The huge trees at the braai areas is awesome and we love the trails!
  12. Nothing wrong with Luvhandles, nothing wrong with ESI. The Luvhandles are firmer/harder than the ESI. I would go with the more luv. I think because of being harder it might last longer.
  13. You will! My next cassette will have a 9T sprocket. At 80 RPM there is an 8.1 km/h speed difference between a 9T and 11T. (Based on 29" wheels and 36T Chainring)
  14. Nope, well known fact the 'stache gives you extra 5 watts...
  15. Awesome ride @Ramses! There will always be haters ...
  16. So I have been running 2.35 Ikons on my dual suspension for quite a while and was happy with it until I read this thread... Now I still have a couple of 2.2 Ikons that I will use on the rear and want to try something new on the front. I like the Minios SS’s knobs on the side and like the Ardent Race. I would prefer a 2.35 on the front. I am riding mostly long distance gravel like the TB and will also be doing a J2C this year. What would you recommend for a fast rolling option that has some grip?

    Audax

Crazy, next level, unhappy marriages?, tough at home?, hardcore. Some of the thoughts that come up when I think of Audax riders
  18. Some reviews complain that the shifting is not as crisp as other cassettes. How would YOU rate the durability @Velouria. I am contemplating going the same route for higher top end.
  19. And it happens SO quickly. I almost created a crash myself... Luckily the guy behind me was very awake...
  20. I shouted at a lot of people... "It is not full road closure, stay on this side of the line!" It became especially dangerous when they could not get back on the left side, and vehicles approached.
  21. Winning time 2:05:27! Respect.
  22. Predictions on winning time tomorrow? Edit: Weather looks cloudy with temp averaging 17 degrees Celcius. Wind from the NE/N at 6m/s. 2018 was 2:11:46
  23. If I become president, I will make it a law to ride with one.
  24. Don't know how to post a gif, but when I saw this kid falling, I though of this post: https://9gag.com/gag/a9K1W3Z AND, I am considering moving to an extremely cold country in order to commute with a full face helmet and not worry about overheating.
  25. Hehe, it looks like his legs wasn't ready to run yet
